How to add custom radio stations
Beat Hazard allows you to add your own custom radio stations to the game. Here's how:

(Thanks to Fideous for some of this text)

1. Locate your game directory:

For Windows:
If you are running Win 7 - 64 bit, should be something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Beat Hazard
or
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Beat Hazard

On Linux:
/home/[YOUR NAME]/.local/share/BeatHazard_Linux2/

On Mac:
-Start under your user files (mine is my name...yours might be different)
-Library
-Application Support
-Steam
-SteamApps
-common
-Beat Hazard

NOW, here's the trick. Right-click on the actual Beat Hazard application (Beat Hazard MAC) and select "Show Package Contents". This should open a new Finder window. Select the following:

-Contents
-Resources
-radio2.txt

2. There are two radio files -- to add a radio station, you need to select radio2.txt

3. There is a sample on how to do it located in the file:
; for example - here is a Classical Radio station
http://www.sky.fm/mp3/classical.pls

Notice how the first line contains ; This will simply allow you to add comments to remember what radio station you picked. The second line is the actual station where the music streams from.

4. You can go to www.shoutcast.com for a great listing of thousands of internet stations as suggested by Beat Hazzard.

5. When you visit shoutcast, you simply right click on the blue arrow to the left of the radio station and select 'copy shortcut'. Then you paste the text into your data file 'radio2.txt'. For instance, if you wanted Radio Santa Claus, your address would be:
http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-station.pls?id=96970

6: There is a neat little app I have that will let you test radio addresses before you go to the trouble of putting them in the game.
Grab it here [www.coldbeamgames.com]
Just past your URL into the custom box. If it plays in the app, then it'll play in the game

7. When you go back into game, you will see the download address indicated above, but as soon as you click over it and pause for a moment, it will convert the web address into the name of the station automatically and start playing the music.

8. The stations you add will also be sent over to the other player in an online game, (At the moment this only works from client to host)

9. You are done adding your first internet radio station! There are thousands to chose from, depending on your tastes. Enjoy!

I'm still having problems with this, I've followed the directions but the Stations I add do not appear for me to choose

Can you post your radio2.txt file?

; add your radio streams here
; use ';' at the start of a line to add comments

; for example - here is a Classical Radio station
http://www.sky.fm/mp3/classical.pls

; note: the name of the station will be automattically added by the game
; to find lots of radio stations go to www.shoutcast.com

end;
http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-station.pls?id=881390

The 'end;' command needs to be the last thing in the file. Move your link above it and it should appear.

thanks

When I right click the blue arrow, I can't see "copy shortcut", and when I press "copy link address" I only get http://www.shoutcast.com/# (PS: Using Google Chrome. Have also tried using Internet Explorer with the same results)

Yeah, they seem to have changed it. Now you don't get the actual address of the station. Instead you have to click on the download button and get a file for a player.

For example, if you get the winamp file and open it in a text editor you see this:

[playlist]
numberofentries=1
File1=http://111.223.51.8:8600
Title1=COOLfahrenheit 93
Length1=-1
Version=2

And this is the real address. http://111.223.51.8:8600. If you put that in the radio text file it should work.

nvm, I added the radio stations that I wanted (and I made sure they worked in your radio tester app), but when I put them into the Radio folder they didn't show up in game, and when I put them into Radio2 only the radios in Radio2 showed up in game, but they didn't work.

@Starg It would probably be good to include that in the OP if you can edit it. Also, if one does it from Chrome, I used a PLS format and just dragged it within the Chrome download's page and showed me the exact info you did there.
