Y axis camera recentering in Quest 2?
My friend has a bit of a unique physical challenge when playing this with Quest 2. Neither the recentering nor the floor height options in the Oculus software itself or in Stream VR are letting him position himself low enough to reach the buttons using the motion controllers. They hit his chest and the hands in-game just struggle to reach the controls.

He's tried recentering the camera in-game by holding the button, but it only recenters on the x axis, not the Y axis. He is literally physically unable to reach the lower control panel inputs because his hands just hit his chest. Is there any recommended way of addressing this? He is limited to seated play.

Either an ability to recenter while looking further up or down, or the ability to sit further back relative to the controls is what he needs basically. The seated Guardian settings in Oculus don't seem to let him make the play space larger, for example.

Edit: They've been experimenting with Advanced OVR Settings app as well and the settings don't seem to apply for them in-game, and they can't find a way anywhere to use keyboard shortcuts in-game or what not.

Literally the worst bug in this game is when you first get in and it says press the recenter button while looking forward and when you press it the oculus window comes up. cannot even play the freaking game and im using quest link. this bug should be patched already where is the patch!?!?!?!

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you are encountering this issue.

Can I just check whether this happens every time you launch the game?

Many thanks,

yes it happens every time i launch the game. im not the only one experiencing this issue. its apparently common. when you first turn on game it says the ubisoft emblem and says look forward and press the recenter button. well when i do that it opens up the oculus window. i am literally unable to play this game. its ridiculous. cant even get to the actual game.

Thanks for confirming this, jay692011, and for sharing some additional information. Apologies for any frustration caused.

Would you be able to let us know if you have a gamepad connected at the moment, and if so, which one? If you could also tell us if it's wired, or wireless, this would be very helpful.

No i do not have a gamepad connected. just the quest 2 controllers.

Thanks for letting me know that information, RaptorMan!

I've seen reports from other players that using an alternative game pad, rather than the touch controllers, to recenter the screen, this has allowed them to progress past this screen. This is because Oculus Quest touch controllers aren't currently supported.[www.ubisoft.com]

Would you be able to try using an Xbox One Controller or PC compatible gamepad to see if this allows you to progress past this screen?

Thanks,

- Ubisoft Support

well i appreciate you finding that information for me. i can use a controller but with that said are we ever going to get quest 2 support or rework so we can get past that screen without using a gamepad? i do appreciate you following up and offering a work around, that alone is awesome. thank you! i will update you and let you know if the gamepad worked for me!

You're welcome, RaptorMan! :)

Please do share an update with us to let us know if using a gamepage worked, or if you're still having trouble getting past the configuration screen. I'm hoping this works for you, though, and you can start playing the game :D

We haven't had any news regarding Quest Touch controller support being added to the game. I can see that this feedback has been shared previously by other players, and I've now passed on your feedback to the dedicated teams as well for further consideration.

Please note that we have stopped post launch support on Werewolves Within, and have no further updates planned for this title at this time. That being said, if there are any future updates for the game, this information will be shared on our official platforms. I'd recommend keeping any eye out there for any new information.

If there's anything else we can help you out with, please let us know!

Thanks,

- Ubisoft Support

This is a joke not being able to use quest 2 touch controllers wasted my money on the game and will be refunding it sadly as a controller like xbox controller takes away the immersion of playing a vr game.... i wanna be able to be using my vr controllers this is bloody annoying and a joke of a game if there is not going to be added support for oculus touch controllers may aswell get a refund
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

No worries just find it frustrating using a controller and having to aim with my head and use controller, seemed like it would be a fun game, i have not refunded it or really gotten to play it properly yet as a friend also cant play it as she dont have any xbox or ps4 controllers and ps3 one does not work on steam that she has to even try to play , Anyways thanks for the game looks fun but i wish i could of used my controllers

I am waiting and hoping my friend can afford to get herself a controller or she may try a bluetooth dongle thing for her xbox 360 controller and then if that don't work may end up refunding sadly and regrettably

I have a Solution, plz use Virtual Desktop, Virtual Desktop emulated a controller, than use the Button Y on your Meta Quest Controller. This is all. Alternative use a Xbox controller.
Was able to SUCCESSFULLY get past using Meta Quest 3 via steam link app in Meta store. So using Meta Quest 3 controller workers to get through recenter to main menu.
