Stuck Looking For The 6 DLC Gnomes

I'm in a small wooded area. On three sides, I'm hemmed in by trees. On the fourth side, there's a tall fence (see screenshot below). I assume I need to get past this fence, but I can't find any way through it, around it, over it, or under it. Any hints?

Hi there,
Shortly after the start of the 5th level, go to a half sunken house. look at the entrance of the house on the ground there is a piece of wood press LMB to pick it up and place it automatically at the gate. Jump on the wood and when you reach the top jump over the gate on the other side I hope, i could help you a little bit.

Thanks, Chris. Yeah, that first picture was enough. I don't know how I missed that piece of wood. I walked right by it twice yesterday, even crouching down to go inside that open doorway to see if there was anything inside the house. After I picked up the wood, all I had to do was go near the fence and the wood automatically placed itself where it needed to be.
