Games like demon tower?

I liked demon tower, liked how short and sweet it was as opposed to the million roguelikes that go on forever and change way too much between runs. Demon tower was more consistent, levels changed, sure, but not too much, and it doesn't have rng in the sense that, it's not like you only find certain enemies or weapons if you're lucky or unlucky, so... does anyone know of a game similar to it?...

Jump button not working with controller

I took a little break for a couple of months from this game, and I do remember things being finicky when I first started; that it said it has controller support but that it really doesn't unless you "enable steam input". And I remember that once I enabled big picture mode and enabled steam input, it worked just fine. But I picked it up to play again, enabling input and whatnot as usual...and I can walk and open the menu and interact with things as if the controller is working perfectly....but I can no lo...

NIGHT IN THE WOODS is a game i've already beaten. back in 2016, when i was still in high school. i remember liking it but i don't really remember what i had to say about it, if anything. coming back to it was something i knew i had to do, but i didn't expect this game to feel so genuinely relevant to how i had been feeling for a long while. living in one of the many godforsaken old dying small towns in america for my entire life. this is possum springs, to me. possum springs is all of these places and at the same time, in a way. playing this now in 2024 is perhaps the most relevant to me it will maybe ever be somehow, or maybe it'll be relevant to me for the rest of my life. i dont know. there's not a way of knowing, but at least i can try to deal with it, probably.

everything sucks forever, and sometimes that's okay, ok?

Does it get better?

2.5 hours in and its cool, but does it get more interesting? All I’ve been doing is visiting friends at the same local stores, meeting a homeless man behind the church, doing band practice, talking to random people. I get that its about a dropout moving back to her small town, but when does it get interesting? I thought I would really like it because its college age people chilling, but maybe Im not feeling it? My thumb is sore from hitting the next button on the conversations...
