I've spent way more time than I would like to admit crafting a 1inch Conventional Flak Gun with the intention of using it as a point defense system, but no matter what I do I cannot seem to get the Payloads to detonate. Thinking I've missed something I also downloaded a Flak frigate to investigate: https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3373593260 But the Flak guns on this also fail to detonate. Do payloads require RC's to detonate the onboard ordnance? Any advice would be appreciated....

How much shrapnel mass should I use and what should it be for a 75 kg(+the shrapnel) flak bomb? I'm currently using 50 kg of Osmium, which just isn't doing much. Thank you in advance.

What is the origin of this stress? I understand it for coilguns where the barrel takes compressive loads along its length, but in a conventional gun all the primary forces are in tension, because the propellant gases take all the compressive loads. The only source of compressive loads I can come up with is friction between the barrel and the projectile against the inertia of the barrel in front of the projectile, and rebound from when this friction is lost....
