That is not a valid argument, since halo wars definitive edition was first released to windows store (with no announcment about releasing on steam), it was the obvious choice to purchase it from there, to split the players from windows store and steam is not right and not the player/buyers fault.
How is it the player/buyers complete fault when the company one is supporting by spending their money on a game franchise they love and have grown up with, then get to know it has been released on a far more popular game selling platform, both still being on PC, splitting the player base, one having dead multiplayer and the other a good chance of creating a more active player base
That you argue that there has been "signs" for the release of Halow wars on steam is just plain stupid, everyone is not as active in looking into every single detail about one game, no matter how much you like it...
I am not saying that everyone who bought it at windows store should get a steam key i am saying that not having crossplay only splitts the player base as we can already see happening in the comments of these pinned discussions, and yet you still claim it is the players fault for it. Why?
I understand your point that one should be careful when buying a product, but for me who did not have a clue about all the signs about Halo Wars DE being released on steam, since microsoft have always kept the halo Franchise to themselves i came to the conclusion that windows store would be my only way of getting my part of the nostalgia, nonetheless, that is a mistake on my part for not gaining more information.
What i am trying to argue about is the crossplay between the windows store version and steam version should be obvious path, something that should have been made before releasing on a seperate game-selling platform as steam. By releasing two seperate versions of the same game, both being for PC, only creates more issues than anyone wants.
I am fine playing my windows store version, but i want to be able to join a public game for once, in the end we both want to play the game, single and multiplayer, but they seem to punish those who bought it on windows store and you who in my eyes seem to argue on their side only pours more salt to the wound. That is all i have say now, i have to get some sleep, but have a good night.
Game is awesome!
EDIT: Thanks for the response!
