is there a workaround to import our GFWL saves that currently are missing?
While we are here, can we know exactly what was fixed in the patch so we can know what to look for when it comes to old/new bugs ??
They fixed having to change the audio setting to start the game. I can confirm that. Unfortunately if you did not have dead rising 2 installed prior with the savegame, it is very likely that your save may not be there.
The option to enable the controller in the game can't be altered.
OS is Win7 64 bits. I don't think anything else is relevant.
The controller used to work with the GFWL version

8. How am I supposed to tell you this query if the game won't even launch for one time?
I would be glad to provide the diagnostic info, but I would rather not post the whole info-panel publicly.
Like any other lad, I was just in the mood to kill some zombies. I have never had the pleasure of experiencing Dead Rising 2 style of carnage. The past week, a sale was going on. And who doesn't love a good sale, right? So, I purchased Dead Rising 2 and 3. I imagine the first step for most (as was mine) is to download and install the game! I heard that Dead Rising 2 had moved from GFWL to Steamworks, sounds great. Once the game finished downloading, I was excited to finally play it. Well, that didn't happen. The game is available in my library, downloaded and installed on my C: drive, and I have tried almost every fix I can find on the world wide web. When I try to launch the game, I get a silent crash. There is no flicker of any type as to signal the game even trying to start. I check the installation folder there begins to be a pile of crash logs all being as vague as possible. So there's the problem.
TLDR: Click play, silent crash, can't fix.
---Reproduction Steps---
Step 1. Install game to any drive (preferably C: drive for maximum compatibility)
Step 2. Press Play
Step 3. Wonder Why Game Has Not Started
Step 4. Think That It Was A One Time Thing, So Press Play Again
Step 5. Scratch Your Head As To Why This Game Doesn't Seem To Work
Step 6. Press Play... Again
Step 7. Get A Hate Message From One Of Your Friends As To Stop Spamming The Play Button And Actually Play The Game
Step 8. Close Chat Box And Press Play
Step 9. (Now Is The Time That The Irritation Sets In) The Game Still Won't Load... Press Play Again?
Step 10 Or Any Number Step Really. Press Play As Many Times As You Like And Watch Your Hard Drive Space Succumb To Text Files!
Step 11. Have I Ever Told You The Definition Of Insanity?
That pretty much sums it up.
Yeah, they posted the list to the DR2 steam group but not here, might as well do their job for them:

I would click play and it would instantly crash. Cant even see the main title.
Same problem. Verifying integrity of game cash didn't fix it either.

B) Specific issue
I click to open Dead Rising 2 from Steam Library.
A window titled 'Dead Rising 2 - Steam' appears with dialog saying 'Preparing to launch Dead Rising 2...'
The window disappears and nothing else happens.
I click to open Dead Rising 2 directly from the deadrising2.exe located within \SteamApps\common\Dead Rising 2
A new file is created within the same folder titled 'crash_(date)_(time).txt' and nothing else happens.
Dialog within crash_(date)_(time).txt:

I believe this is what is called a silent crash. I do not have any other information I can provide without further advice or instruction.
