My colony started to die (again) because the TWO cooks what i had didn't wanted to cook. Not at all. I disallowed them EVERYTHING else than cooking (priority very high), and supply (low) the stuff.... I've set all of the kitchen stuff to yellow alert, and while i had energy, i had materials to craft food. They idled themselfs standing next to the kitchen while they (and every other dupes) starved... ad after that they just watched the whole colony die. WHY? Is this a normal behavour after some cycles? i can never get past mid game because if i do anything to expand it make a problem that requires resources that make more problems, an example is steel. if i ever try to get steel i make loads of heat but the cooling system required to delete that heat needs steel which makes more heat. not to mention the power needed for a metal refinery can only be matched by a petroleum generator but unfortunately that needs a STEEL aqua tuner to not over heat. also just plain boredom. it can get really boring watching ...

Is there any way to use Smart and Jumbo batteries together effectively?

They'll drop slime they're carrying from the swamp I'm mining out to my mushroom farms and it'll leave slimelung PO2 in my base. Same with ice; they'll just drop it anywhere and then all of a sudden my base is wet because it melted. And the worst offense, is when a dupe was carrying an egg across a ladder bridge over water, their shift ended, they dropped the egg, and it almost immediately hatched and the critter drowned :( :( :(...

the amount of heat created by my metal refiner is enough to heat up half my ice biome to 128+ in 4 cycles. how do i cool it off without ac/st cooling loop?
