Here's what you need to do:
1. Find, Download, and install a trial version of the game. By doing this, you will have access to updated components of the files which are not on the original disc. You'll have to Google for a legit site (gaming or otherwise) that still has the trial version of the game available for download

2. Insert the original game disk

3. Right-click on the disc icon to reveal the contents of the disk

4. Copy and paste all files on the disc (EXCEPT THE DIRECT-X FILE!!!) to a new folder on your desktop. The reason you cannot copy the Direct-X file is because it is not only the initial source of the problem (which delays the installation), but because the file is outdated, apparently. The trick is to trick the file into depending upon the software components within the trial version of the
file that should already be installed on your computer. The system will seemingly treat the game file from the new folder as if it were an upgrade from the trial version.

5. Once you've completed the copy and paste of the files on the disc (EXCLUDING THE
DIRECT-X FILE) to the new folder on your desktop, remove the original game disk.

5. Install the game from the new file folder created on the desktop; using the SETUP.EXE link
from the new file game file folder you've created.

The trial version is already preloaded with patches and/or updated software you need. The only flaw is that you'll still have to be prepared to insert the original disk whenever you are prompted to do so: This can happen either in the middle of your 1st gameplay after installation or the second. In either case, be aware that it is guaranteed to happen. So do not throw away your original game DVD/CD!
