Devil May Cry 4 is too much on the greys. And these bloody buffoons couldn't even be bothered to announce the damned delisting at least 24 hours in advance? For shame!

It worked for me with Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends.

Because the better version of it is available on steam

Found and tried the GFWL version and it seems that DMC4Hook works using the Steamless-applied exe from the Steam version.

I got a key at gamesplanet, can confirm it works. Picked up DMC3 on humble

Probably couldn't find the source code for the original version to shove their garbage "Enigma" DRM that they seem to implement in their older games, which is why you probably see new branches according to SteamDB for a bunch of their older titles but not for OG DMC4 & DMC3SE

The simplest solution is often the best one: they were. by Capcom standards, outdated rereleases of games they were already selling in a different way.

I suppose they must've thought that having two versions of DMC4 and 3 on the very same store was pointless, if not straight-up damaging as unmodded OG DMC3 requires a bit of tinkering *just* to work decently.

For the record, I'm absolutely NOT defending Capcom's decision here (which is something I've been saying quite a lot lately). They should have left them.

I have loads of hours on both DMC4's original PC port (not on Steam, though) and old DMC3 SE and I personally despise that a bloated and badly optimized version of DMC4 is the one that most casual players will experience for the first time considering how amazing the old port was and how it could run on toasters at 60+ fps with max settings but eh, it is what it is.

At the very least, I'm glad they were left "pure" without the BS """security""" software tacked onto them... For now.
