The both of them are doing what they love, exploring the Far Far Range and having adventures, and Making music and having a career in it.
I like to completely ignore the fact that the letters stop and focus that maybe they'd meet again when they're ready;to compromise, to see if the relationship works out, whatever.
Hobson spent a long time building his friendship and relationship with Thora and both their dreams allowed them to come together in the end. So I don't see why Beatrix wouldn't be allowed some time. It might be mnths, it might be several years but I guess it just depends on the way you choose to see it. Either way I might have cried a little at the ending.
And I am one of those people whom really hate being given choices without knowing the outcome so when it came to choosing a door, that it was symbolic instead was a small relief and set up what to expect from the ending. This way it allows the player to theorise about what they think happened the way they want it to.
But either way providing seperate endings and then making more content for the "end" of the game would have been loads of work and I think the team are more focused on new slimes, new areas and new interactive characters for those areas.
Sometimes your choices don't lead you to a person, but a place, and thats okay too yknow?
I say, all that trail of hide and seek and H wasn't actually (you know what), and then that mellow mail saying the same love blabbering ONCE AGAIN.
At the end, we conclude that Beatrix is the only one screwed up, while everyone else got along well.
Franky, even No Man's Sky ending was better than this one...
I like to think of the ending as being up to the player, and it sorts makes sense really.
The player controls what Beatrix does this whole time and what slimes that she farms.
So while it is Beatrix' story, the player both directly and indirectly influences it.
Think of it this way, the end of the game comes (so to speak) and the player gets no choice to go back, the player might've sped through the game in like a week in-game time and tbh even if someone wanted to return to a loved one they wouldn't do so after a just a week.
I like to think that in future Beatrix did return to Casey, just like Hobson did to Thora, but like Hobson not straight away
(watch as the devs have already said what actually happens and I'm just not aware lmao)
I agree with thinking that Beatrix will return to Casey in future, but for example I finsh game in 44 days and with travel in two ways (two years) that is a long time but not too much long and now it is time to have fun and left thinking of future to Beatrix.
Wow i just finished it and writing this really help with come to terms with it, but this strange felling associated with ending game will stay for a while, it is normal.
(Sorry fo mistakes)
There was no crescendo or anything like that that lead to think that the last mail from Casey was different and led BEatrix to think about Casey for one day. Probably the last messages about the two doors and decissions was it, but still was not clear. I would have love that as other mentions at the end you can reunite with Casey and the last upgrade you can unlock after all cosmetic and upgrades from the club is to pay like 100000 for the ticket to go to visit Casey in a concert. Then that would be a nice ending, you have the goal, you can extend it if you want to explore or finish things and that triggers the final scene with Beatrix in the concert and Casey seeing her in the crowd.
Like dude puts his unhealed trauma in the game in a way that does not enrich or add.
Slime rancher is a great experiment but in the end it's what you get with little over site and one person at the wheel.
It's like an unfinished thought and they just moved into 2 which they are slopping as well.
Very Fable.
