Controller/gamepad issues? Please read!
We are aware of various reports of issues related to using a gamepad/controller with the latest version of Slime Rancher. As far as we can tell, this seems to be dependent upon particular configurations. To help track these issues down it would be helpful if you are having issues with your gamepad/controller within Slime Rancher to submit a report to support@monomipark.com containing:
- Operating System
- Specific Controller hardware being used
- Any drivers you have installed for your controller (or if you are just using the pre-installed OS drivers)
- Symptoms you are seeing
As an example:
- Operating System: Windows 10
- Specific Controller hardware being used: XBox One S controller
- Drivers: Built-in windows drivers
- Symptoms: Left stick does not move player, all other controls work.
Thank you very much for your patience as we work toward a solution!
I have a problem when using the pillars for a plot, ranch extension zone or science machine.
The default key to use them is the blue X button.
Whenever I try to use them, the popup windows shows very briefly, then starts to blink very quickly. This make the popup window unreadable and unusable.
When I then first go to the Steam overlay (by pressing the steam button on the controller), close this overlay and then hit the X button for the pillar. The same popup window is shown without problem.
If I take a few steps again to another pillar the same thing happens again. This results in that I have to open the Steam overlay first every time I want to use a plot configuration pillar.
My guess is that it is caused by the software having problem distinguish between mouse and controller and goes switching between them. Maybe it sees some of the input buttons as a desktop mouse action and lose the controller (just guessing).

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04.
Controller: 8BITDO NES30 Pro
Drivers: Built in Windows Drivers
Symptoms I am having: I can't use the controller at all sadly. I have it set to XBox 360 controller mode, and it still doesn't work. I am also not using the wireless, so that's not the issue either.
Not sure if this is enough information or not, sorry.
For what it's worth, I'm having the same issue in Windows.
Controller: standard PS4 pad
Drivers: built-in windows drivers
the options, share, and touchpad buttons don't seem to be mappable to any function in the game. This is easily fixed by remapping the button(s) in JoyToKey or similar programs, but having them work by default ingame would be awesome. Other than this, the PS4 gamepad works perfectly. This is my first time playing the game with a PS4 pad and I am an immense idiot, so I may just be missing something.
