Controller / Gamepad Troubleshooting
If you are seeing any issues with your controller working, the first thing we would suggest is to try toggling their configuration support for your type of controller. You can do this by:
  1. Open Steam and then click Steam from the top menu bar
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Controller from the list of setting options and click the General Controller Setting button
  4. Check the box (or, in some cases, uncheck the box) for the type of controller that most matches what you are using

If none of those configuration options solve this for you, then please reach out to us with your information at https://support.slimerancher.com/hc/ and be sure to include the following:
  • The platform you are playing on
  • Your Operating System
  • The controller used
  • A description of your problem

If you are able to, please also include any driver you have installed for the controller, or if they are pre-installed OS driver.

Example:

Platform: Steam
Operating System: Windows 10
Controller: Xbox One S Controller
Description: Recently I started having trouble with my Xbox controller - the left analog stick doesn’t move my character, but all other controls seem to work.

Thank you so much for your patience as we investigate any issues you are seeing!

OLD POST PLEASE READ ABOVE

Controller/gamepad issues? Please read!

We are aware of various reports of issues related to using a gamepad/controller with the latest version of Slime Rancher. As far as we can tell, this seems to be dependent upon particular configurations. To help track these issues down it would be helpful if you are having issues with your gamepad/controller within Slime Rancher to submit a report to support@monomipark.com containing:

- Operating System
- Specific Controller hardware being used
- Any drivers you have installed for your controller (or if you are just using the pre-installed OS drivers)
- Symptoms you are seeing

As an example:
- Operating System: Windows 10
- Specific Controller hardware being used: XBox One S controller
- Drivers: Built-in windows drivers
- Symptoms: Left stick does not move player, all other controls work.

Thank you very much for your patience as we work toward a solution!

I play with Steam Controller and Steam Link on my living room TV.

I have a problem when using the pillars for a plot, ranch extension zone or science machine.
The default key to use them is the blue X button.

Whenever I try to use them, the popup windows shows very briefly, then starts to blink very quickly. This make the popup window unreadable and unusable.
When I then first go to the Steam overlay (by pressing the steam button on the controller), close this overlay and then hit the X button for the pillar. The same popup window is shown without problem.

If I take a few steps again to another pillar the same thing happens again. This results in that I have to open the Steam overlay first every time I want to use a plot configuration pillar.

My guess is that it is caused by the software having problem distinguish between mouse and controller and goes switching between them. Maybe it sees some of the input buttons as a desktop mouse action and lose the controller (just guessing).

- Windows 10 Pro: Nvidea GeForce 1060
- Steam Link
- Steam Controller firmware version

Can you confirm you're using the latest version of the Steam client? Also please send a mail to support@monomipark.com so one of our support agents can begin working with you toward a solution. Thanks!

I have a problem with Slime Rancher and an Xbox 360 wireless controller, the Y axis to look up and down is inverted and changing the settings to reverse it does nothing, this wasn't the case on the previous 0.4.x versions, that I had notice this has begun to happen in the latest v 0.5

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04.

Operating System: Windows 10
Controller: 8BITDO NES30 Pro
Drivers: Built in Windows Drivers
Symptoms I am having: I can't use the controller at all sadly. I have it set to XBox 360 controller mode, and it still doesn't work. I am also not using the wireless, so that's not the issue either.

Not sure if this is enough information or not, sorry.

Any chance an option to adjust deadzone could be added?

Can I make you a mii-mote control script?
Hey! Is there any plan for support for Nintendo Switch Controllers? (i.e. the joycons and pro controller). I have connected my Switch's joycons and the pro con successfully and used them in other games, but they don't react with Slime Rancher. ):

I reccommend you use the gui mode. the script mode only makes sense if you know what the parts are called and identified as.

For what it's worth, I'm having the same issue in Windows.

OS: windows 7
Controller: standard PS4 pad
Drivers: built-in windows drivers

the options, share, and touchpad buttons don't seem to be mappable to any function in the game. This is easily fixed by remapping the button(s) in JoyToKey or similar programs, but having them work by default ingame would be awesome. Other than this, the PS4 gamepad works perfectly. This is my first time playing the game with a PS4 pad and I am an immense idiot, so I may just be missing something.
