Get an error every time I attempt to start Wallpaper Engine today
It says "core_msgbox_ui_file _not_found" It's worked fine since I have had it and I run it almost all the time.

How have you started the program? Please try to close it fully from the tray menu first and then start it over Steam.

Okay I did and no change. I tried to start it from the desktop shortcut originally. Next I tried in through Steam and installation folder but the same thing happened each time. Once it didn't give me the error(through steam) but it just came up as an empty box.

Please try these things:

- Make sure the program is completely closed again, check that the icon in the tray menu is gone.
- Verify the files through Steam: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
- Fix the Steam library with the "repair library" steps here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2274-IFLV-5334&l=

If it still doesn't work after this, can you please make a screenshot of either the full error (since I believe it should also include a path to a file) or that box you mentioned? Please share the screenshot somewhere like www.imgur.com and link it here. Also, please share this log: https://help.wallpaperengine.io/en/debug/scantool.html

I followed the "repair library" steps. Nothing changed until I got to Repair Library Folder, which seemed to get rid of the error and gave me the blank box every time for some reason. I then verified local files and then restarted Steam. It seems to be in working order now.

That was the fastest developer help I have ever gotten by far! Thank you so much for the speedy help.

Had this issue too and since this is the top Google search result, minus well put the resolution here. You need to open Wallpaper Engine through Steam and not through the desktop application. I personally ran 64-bit in the steam dialogue and this initiated the application installation process after I've already reinstalled the application.
