im sure he is still around if you ask him a direct question. think it needs more advertising to show what can be done here. this game has layers and I think people may be just looking at the cover.
That can make or break a game. As simple as it is to click on a game and look at the pics, watch the video(s) and read just a handful of reviews, or even just hover over the cover to see the preview of pics, a lot of people wont. So that game title and cover is really the first impression to many people. This game allows to hover over it, but the first picture you see, as they flash by rather quickly, are two horses in the wild (I hardly noticed the person riding one of them.) and the rest are just scenery pics.
I almost moved on myself and I generally click on a lot of games. I am glad I did not though and intend on purchasing this game shortly and hope it works properly. But I am sure a lot of people just read the title, looked at the cover and or quick slide show preview and never even bothered to click on the game it self. Or with all due respect, maybe they thought it was a Mine Craft clone from the brief video of building, as they are a dime a dozen these days.
And I hate it when a game over sells with like five or more videos that are both at the beginning and the end of the pictures. But also when they under sell their product, which is the case here.
This is truly a hidden Gem with what you can do in it. No offense to the Developer but it really needs a better a video to advertise the game ;)
The video seems really modest of the basic game and doesnt really show the potential. Like a timelapse of a green flat map being shaped into a world. A item being created in the editor uploaded to workshop then showing the character using it in game. A little mini game showing multiple people pulling up on a dock with a ship taking on a quest from the Noble of the town. Then showing the people fighting a creature and getting a reward. Things like this done in the right way would really help sell this game. The ideas could be limitless as this game is. All my workshop content is there to use to advertise as well. Everyone seems to enjoy the game just needs more people to bring it to life. More people would mean more sales and this developer deserves those sales. I don't get hooked easily on games and this one I easy to put 1000+ hours in.
[Well, the game works at least. There is lag, especially over each new horizon, assuming the computer has to calculate what it is I am suppose to see. I have not bothered to fiddle with the visual settings yet. For all I know it has already taken into account my poor system and used the best options for me accordingly. Regardless I bought it on sale, not full price, so I know I can get some use out of this.
Although I am not totally sure what is going on, as no one is attacking me. Not any of the soldiers, golems or deer. Although the deer has at least injured me when I was in front of it when I swung and it run off. But everyone else, in full armour and made from stone is dying in a few hits from my hands. I was expecting to be throwing fire balls or lightning. But no? Also no tutorial is popping up, even though that box is still check marked.]
I am not sure why nothing is attacking me and I certainly do not see anything resembling a friendly NPC for quests, or understanding why I am starting in the middle of no where. I have not traveled far, more or less just testing to see if it would even work on my meager system.
game streamers to increase popularity
Never occurred to me make a world though, not even sure how I would.
I did subscribe to that one work-shopped three-continent offer that looks interesting, but I am still on my first play thru, gonna play with the core game some more first.
