My game keeps crashing and crashing and crashing! What do?

What has happened to Magicka: Wizard Wars? I can't find it anymore.
Wizard Wars' servers have been closed. The store page is gone, but you can still access the discussions, screenshots, etc. -> Link

No, unfortunately there won't be. At least it's extremely unlikely.

Where do I find the files of The Ninth Element book?
Rightclick Magicka in your Steam library. Open properties. Local files. Browse Local files.
The files you are looking for are "magicka_novel" and "magicka1_pdfversion".

My game crashes when I reach chapter 2! What do?
Your hardware likely doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Magicka tends to not work very well on laptops and some intel graphics cards. Nothing that can be done unfortunately. You might run into a very similar issue in chapter 9, but that can be avoided.

My friends can't find my multiplayer game! What do?
Firstly you have to make sure you actually host an online game. Click Online Play and then Host. Once you're in the lobby, open the Steam overlay and open your friends list. Rightclick your friend(s) and click "Invite to Game". You do NOT need programs like Hamachi. NEVER alt-tab (minimise) out of your game.

I always end up playing with kbm because the controller doesn't work
Press ESC once to remove your keyboard character. Then press the Join button on your controller (A on Xbox 360) to join the lobby with the controller. The character slots have different icons, one for KBM and one for controller.

Help, I have a problem with the game!

My friends crash when I host a game and start it! What do?
Never minimise the window or alt-tab. If you are playing a challenge, PvP or one of the DLC adventures, reselect the level when everyone is in the lobby before you start. This will fix a desync bug which causes everyone but the host to crash.

Nobody is joining my game! What do?
Can't stress this enough: If the game runs in full screen mode, you must not minimise it; this disrupts the connection and nobody will be able to join you. It also removes your game from the server list (though it's probably not listed there in the first place because of buggy netcode). Why can't I heal myself?
Some robes are immune to life. Space Robe, Cyber Robe (aka Tron Robe), Necromancer Robe. There are a few spells which make you immune to life as well. Selfcasting ED, EQR, EW or variants thereof will make you immune to life.

Why am I walking so slowly?
1) There are some robes with slow walking speed. 2) You are slowed down by wearing armours (selfcasting ED or EQR). 3) Having elements in your spell bar also decreases the speed. 4) Being chilled (your character appears blueish) slows you down significantly.

Help, I can't find anyone to play Magicka with!

What do I do with the CD key?
The CD key you can find in your Steam library can be used on the Paradox Interactive forums[forum.paradoxplaza.com]. Activating it there will give you a Magicka icon for your profile. But other than that the key is useless and activating it will not solve any multiplayer or technical issues you may have with the game.

My CD key is not working! What do?
If you bought the key from a key shop, contact the site's support. However, be aware that you might have been scammed/given an invalid key. Additionally you may try contacting the Steam support.

I'm stuck in the tutorial! What do?
If you chose the Cyber Robe or the Space Robe, you can't heal yourself with Life. In this case go to the rope on the right of the room, point at it and press [Shift]+[LMB]. The rope is now broken and you can advance to the next room.
Do not use the Tank Robe or the Headcrab Robe; it's impossible to finish the tutorial with these robes because of their slow walking speed.
