Not all unlockables are OP stuff either, maybe just use those that are not. Infinite ammo and chainsaw are pretty game-breaking (you're not supposed to have infinite ammo on first Madhouse playthrough anyway), but stuff like the faster walking (only affects walking, not running) and the glasses to find items without using stimulants aren't such insane advantages.
I would say the glasses are game breaking, there are a lot of hidden itens that you need stimulants (a limited resource) to find, or a lot of time, this have an added pressure with Jack chasing you or, specially in mad house, the threat of almost dying from an enemy attack while searching. The glasses negate all of it, specially when part of the challenge from madhouse is the new item placements.
Like getting the key in the furnace and having 2 molded come after you, I didn't know you had to close the door to despawn them.
And like the jack fights with the car key placement and jack placement to be able to get in without being pulled out. As well the amount of ammo to make jack take out the chainsaw in the second fight and use that to save ammo.
Overall it was fun and I'm glad I played it fair and square.
