I like it a lot too. And I honestly preferred this to the first one. Maybe the first one was more scary compared to this one. But I never liked its setting very much, I don't like horror stories involving psychiatric hospitals in general. Not only I preferred the setting and the whole story behind the cult and the heretics, but I LOVED school segments. I am currently replaying it for the third time (I almost finished it, I am in the mine chapter) and I still remember how I felt playing the school parts for the very first time: it was a mix of tension, fear, panic (during chasing moments) but also.. emotion. The moment I started realizing what could've happend in that school to Jessica and how much she meant to Blake.. damn. It was painful. I felt empathy for them.

The only thing that they could and, maybe, had to make manage better is the whole Lynn's pregnancy story. That's also why I didn't like the ending very much. They focused a lot into Jessica/Blake story, leaving behind Lynn's pregnancy.

Overall, I like Outlast 2 more than 1. And I put this game into my personal top horror games I ever played. Everytime I replay it I appreciate it a lot.

Outlast 2 kicks so much ass.

i would say the lake is a little bit boring, and there were a bit more chase scenes, but other than that i totally agree.

Outlast 1 is better, it is fun replaying it again, again but Outlast 2 is better story wise.

But is it pretty? In Spanish? Haha

Yeah, the game is really eye candy, but i had to drag myself trough it for the first 2 hours. Also the school sections, i appreciated it and those runaway sections but what does it matter to the whole story? It's okay to put in there but it felt like they really stretched those sections.. Just to reach to the music room.

The lake with raft part, the evening with the moon.. was really nice done, from there on trough the ending but i wouldn't call it a masterpiece. An okay game for me 7/10 and outlast 1 for me was a masterpiece when it came out it was one of the top horror games

OP, did you play it with the mod that restored the missing chases that were taken out?

i would have liked it better if they did not remove all those chases

I downloaded the mod to put them back in and I'm going to play it with them again after I finish outlast 1 again.

One word: Masterpiece.

this games really fun & one of the most fun horror games i’ve ever played and it’s really fun to watch too. i’m talking about the version with all chases restored btw , i use that mod because red barrels decided to ruin the game by removing chases
