DAMN! its good!

I've played this to absolute death on Xbox via Game Pass so I picked it up on a Steam sale recently. Runs great on my ageing system at Ultra settings, though I get some pretty choppy frame rate drops occasionally lol. If you haven't played the first one yet, play that first and then come back to this, you'll appreciate the characters and story here a lot more if you do. Plays great with an Xbox Series X|S controller even though for some reason Steam says it might not. Also works great with a PS5 DualSense controller - as long as you avoid touching the touch pad, as it acts like a mouse input and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable that.

Worthy sequel that ups the ante. Just as good as Dishonored and in some ways better.

Basically a steampunk fantasy immersive sim about getting revenge and reclaiming power via parkour-based assassinations.

The lush environments are the star of the show, and are a joy to traverse and explore. Some levels are a particular delight and should be played more than once.

Much like The Witcher 2 (but not to nearly the same degree), this could be characterised as two games in one, since the game "splits" at the beginning and your choice here defines the rest of your playthrough.

As always, there's lots of optional content to discover, and you get to decide how to approach every encounter and how to go about dealing with the characters - with some of your choices impacting the plot and the ultimate outcome.

Same criticism as the first Dishonored, though: stealth is encouraged, but is often the most boring way to play. The game really comes alive once you let go of the perfectionist impulse to complete a mission undetected.
