Skibidi Toilet, and all this type of derivative content always existed on the internet, like Newgrounds animation parodies from the 2000s made in Adobe flash, or even in gmod animations themselves (YTP's and Machinimas also count). Something like Skibidi Toilet isn't really new and essence, the difference is that these people grew older and now that they see the younger generations liking the same thing they'll be like "oh my god, this is terrible, they're corrupting gen z/alpha", but when you touch in the brainrot they consumed back in the 2000s and 2010s internet they will try to defend it due to nostalgic and emotional appeal, specifically claiming that "the internet back then was different".
I'm not saying that things like Skibidi Toilet are necessarily "good" or "bad", much less that these older internet content that somewhat lines itself with our current conception of "Brainrot". The truth is much deeper, I'm just trying to say that, young people are naturally retarded, you're retarded, this community is retarded, I am retarded, and it's okay, so it is every young and easily impressionable person in this Earth, and it's just as foolish from older people's part to just despise the youth, bash against them, and avoid having to deal with them, without acknowledging the fact that they were once stupid like this too, which is normal.
And this leads to another topic as well, that older people don't want to be around the presence of kids, teens, and young people in general, since they don't want to deal with them. In the case of kids in particular, this connects itself with the problem of brainrot, because parents don't want to do the basic task of parenting their kids, so what they do? Just give them a smartphone, a tablet, an iPad, and let them consume all this crap 24/7 nonstop, because in the past people did the same thing with their kids but with televisions, then computers, then smartphones, older generations hate the younger ones because they don't want to see a reflection of themselves at that age but worse. "iPad kids" already existed before iPads, or even before the internet itself, people just can't or don't want to see it.
Before this becomes off-topic: How does this have anything to do with Skibidi Toilet? Simple, as schizophrenic this may sound, gen alpha and all the brainrot they consume is essentially the elixir of the pure essence of the degradation of human society since 1945 and forward, right after WW2 ended and during the Cold War. Skibidi toilet wouldn't even exist if these kids whom can't barely read weren't here, and when you look back nothing has changed, just gotten when more extreme and evident, we just couldn't see it...

The first difference between skibidi toilet and SFM animations is that skibidi toilet is extremely recognisable among children, teens and even adults. And the second difference skibidi toilet is a cash cow/content farm. Skibidi toilet can be considered as brain rot because the plot doesn't make any sense.

The second difference is debatable. it could be a content farm or a guy who doesn't want to keep people waiting and uploads parts of the episodes as shorts before making them the full episode.
And the third difference can apply to Half-Life itself. It doesn't make sense how aliens from a another world named Xen invade earth after a "residence cascade". This can apply to a lot of other media. Best example is Madness Combat would you consider madness combat brainrot because the plot doesn't make sense?

Skibidi toilet is still extremely recognisable even in the most distinctive communities from Half-Life 2 or even Source-1 engine games. There are a lot of channels that are a cash cow. Singing toilets fighting cameras and speakers, yes.
