Im playing on steam deck an the game runs perfect, except when i press the touch or look icons they dont work. They are highlighted but when i try to do anything with them it just makes me walk

So I've stumbled upon an issue with Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet. I'm stuck at a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay mechanic part (getting by the pink and blue monsters towards the end of the game) which I can solve by just getting a save file which takes me to the part right after said area. Issue is that the save file I found won't work with the GOG version (which is identitical to the version on Steam), despite the file format and naming scheme being the same. Not sure if there's any possible way for me to solve...
