Are Fallout 4s old mods still broken?
I gave up on the game due to a bug with sim settlements and getting the whole UI bugged. After that they released the next gen update which broke the game completely and made it unlaunchable. Its been more than 5 months since the update. Are the old mods that are supposed to be broken by the patch fixed now?

have a ton of mods active. The mod that is breaking my game though is Sim Settlements. I downloaded the update for it and still , when i install it, the game doesnt even pass the splash screen stage. Any ideas? The mods were working correctly together before and i know that for a fact since its a 100 hour save file. Disabling SS2 , launching and loading a save 15 minutes prior to the latest one plays fine. Although i get a message that workshop framework detected entities that no longer exist and that i should stop playing the save file. Any suggestions on how to make things work out again? I want Sim Settlements installed.

Load Order goes as follows.
- Fallout 4 and Dlc
-Unofficial Patch
-ArmorKeywords
-WorkshopFramework
-XDI (dialoge mod)
-MutantMenagerie
-MutantMenagerieFarHarbor
-RepopulateSalem
-SS2
-SS2_XPAC_Chapter2
-MutantMenagerieNukaWorld
-SS2_XPAC_Chapter3
-AmericaRising2
-HolotapeDisplays
...etc...
-SS2CityPlanContest (...)
-(other mods)

There is defenitely something wrong with the load order, but even then, should the game crash at a loading screen? Right now i dont even get to the intro video with SS2 enabled.

if you want to play the updated version of the game with mods you have to go to each of your mod pages and see if they have updates, or if they even need to be updated

the other option is to downgrade. I used the below downgrader a few times it only took a couple minutes

It depends on the mod, some older ones still work fine other don't , won't know until you test them, be sure to make a backup save before you load them

None of mine ever broke, but I only use a half dozen of them. The upgrade never hurt anything for me, but YMMV.
Alot of them seem to be. Some work though, for whatever reason.
Most mods are working . Almost all of the '' script extender '' mods are working . The are a few mods that have never been updated seen they were put on Nexus , then there other mods out there that are '' version specific '' ( for example , I actually run the GOG version )
, then there mods out there that will flat break your game , sometimes to the point where you have re-install your game .

Just read the installation instructions and the requirements of the mod and you should be OK .

Are you using Sim Settlements?

Or are you using Sim Settlements TWO?

you cannot use BOTH of them, in the same game. So just to be clear your statement doesn't say ss2 first, but you add 2 later.

Otherwise you'll need to make sure that you are using the CORRECT version of Workshop Framework for the version of SS you're on. 1 and 2 are *probably* different, though I might be wrong on that.

You are right about that, I am using SS2

I'd suggest hitting up their discord or whatever forum they might have then since their mod is a massive beast and probably has a dedicated area for bug reports and issue resolution. We can flail around and try but they'd be way more likely to have real answers.
Allot of mod authors stated they won't be updating , your better off running the "old" version.
Just downgrade to the previous update. Plenty of tutorials on how, and how to prevent your game from Updating. Takes a few minutes to do.
- Fallout 4 and Dlc Always was broken, mostly fixed by UOFO4 patch et al
-Unofficial Patch fixed
-ArmorKeywords always was broken, just takes a while to realize it causes CTD
-WorkshopFramework always was broken, just takes a while to realize it causes CTD
-XDI (dialoge mod) fixed
-AmericaRising2 always was broken, just takes a while to realize it borked your game

No mod authors other than those already out of fallout 4 modding have said this, please don't exaggerate.
