This is a horrible Soulslike, and a worse video game.

It's probably the worst Soulslike on the market, not counting the obvious scams, low-effort asset flips, and unfinished games.

I played about 8 hours of this and made it through several areas, but level and enemy design get worse as the game goes on.

There's a lock-on system which doesn't really work, but the aiming control isn't tight enough not to lock on.

Most enemies only have a small weak point that does significant damage. Shooting them anywhere else results in far less damage. Late in the game, enemies show up with shields, so they can only be shot in their weak point, which is usually covered, making for some extremely tedious encounters.

Bosses aren't really that bad, but suffer from the same issue as the enemies. But because they have "boss health bars," they take much longer to take down while offering very little to change up the mechanics. Other than spawning adds sometimes.


The Remnant series figured out third-person shooting in a Soulslike context, and even Codex Lost understands ranged Soulslike combat much better than this game.

This game should be totally skipped. If the developers ever make another game like this, hopefully they'll just copy Remnant II in terms of enemy design and combat flow.

Immortal Unchained is noteworthy for being maybe the earliest Soulslike to attempt ranged combat, simply for developers of future games to see what went wrong attempting to combine third-person shooting with Soulslike combat elements.

Meaning, if you aren't a game developer doing research for a new Soulslike, you can most likely skip this one.
