Will Be Shutdown in 1 Year

Ubisoft executives are currently discussing the date of shutting down The Division, and it's most likely in a year approximately.
I cannot disclose my source's name nor position in Ubisoft for obvious reasons.

Too bad I read this too late. Trying to get the game running since an hour after downloading (while my account claims I've been playing). Ubisoft asking me to create an account and doesn't accept perfectly fine and unique usernames.
At least it' "just" 4,49 € down the drain. Lesson learned.

Fr, this is why I no longer buy Ubisoft games. I've had enough of this publisher.

Here's somewhat of a proof. What do most publishers like Ubisoft always do whenever they're delisting a game? They always remove anything to do with online in its feature tags. Look now in the store you'll find THE DIVISION, like one of the biggest MMORPG Ubisoft ever made to be ONLY "Singleplayer". The same thing happened to The Crew 1 year before it got delisted.

Damn thats sad, i just bought the game at steam sale and enjoying it.

Hoping they can release atleast an offline mode or some source codes to atleast the public can run their own private servers.

Anyways its disappointing to hear, im loving this game.

I love this game too, but that's what they do every time. They put on sale for cheap until they take it off the store.

I simply don't like running games through 2 clients. Every Ubisoft/EA game I own on Steam I own a 2nd copy on their launcher. Also me not owning the game on Steam doesn't have anything to do with this.
