Did they ever make this solo player friendly yet?
When I last played it, the game was great, but it got to a point where it was unplayable solo. Can you get the very end tier things and is there even a way to beat this solo?

"To beat" the game is the wrong way to look at it, but yes it is quite possible to handle all end-tier content solo with a carefully min-maxed ship that's geared to tank hits and deal pain.

The workshop may well be an idea for you.

It really is too bad because the game had serious potential.

It was only missing 3 things:
Nothing to do in PVE very quickly
Automation isn't really automation because you had to still manually upkeep it. The loop of tasks never closes completely.
You had to manually reload certain guns.

Other than that the game had a good system going for it. It's too bad to see it fail like this.

PVE - A more varied selection of missions would have been nice for PVE players i agree

Automation - ACTRs make automation easy. You just need to replace cartridges every so often along with heatsinks ( water tanks and sprinklers do a very good job of putting out ACTR fires, also no life support in your ACTR room means no oxygen and no fires.

Tasks never completely close - Not sure what you mean by this.

Weapon reloads - You can use ACTRs to reload, ammo loaders, railguns, torpedo tubes and armour generators. makes life a lot easier for solo players ^^

In good automation games the tasks do completely close. When you start making a huge ship all you are doing is replacing cartridges, heatsinks, and destroying infection non stop. That is all you have time to do in difficult areas. Big problem.
