Trine 1-4, crossplay between Steam and GoG?

I have Trine 1-4 on Steam. Friend is looking to get it on GoG (currently on sale). What is the current crossplay situation between Steam and GoG?

They should all work as well as two copies on Steam or GoG. The networking tech is the same for all PC versions.
