I didn't really want to give this game a thumbs down, because it is genuinely exciting, but speaking from my personal experience, I can't recommend it today for 3 main reasons.
1. Player count and grizzled veterans.  
This game has it's own loyal community of players that has seen it all and played the game for a long time. It's often hard to play against them and such players can often get toxic with you for real no reason. Also, most of them probably larp as nazis (88 in the nickname is pretty common). The player count can rise on sales, but won't be enough if you're looking for a long experience with the game. You might find a server to play on, but it's pure luck.

2. Connection issues.  
The ping on almost every server is horrendous. Even if you manage to find a server with a good ping, soon enough you'll have over 200+ or simply lose connection to the server. Sometimes, you can lag out so bad that the game thinks you're using speed hacks and bans you for the session.

3. Bugs and glitches.  
Your settings can set to default whenever they feel like it, the floor texture disappears into oblivion, the crashes are of common occurrence. If I had played for more hours, i believe I'd definitely find more.

Overall, if you're not afraid of the price and all the things I've listed above and you're looking for a good ol' semi-realistic WW2 shooter, you can try this game on sale.
