i get sound when cuteness play but normal game play is completely silent anyone know how to fix it

I am playing on a steam deck, game starts fine. Audio works in cut scenes only. In the open world there is no sound. Oddly enough I connected it to dock and my monitor has speakers so launching game from desktop mode with monitor speakers the game audio works fine. In handheld mode no audio other than first cut scene. Not sure how to install the open AL drivers on the steam deck, not sure that would fix the problem....
