The necromancer just asks to be paid in every message. I got resurrected by it once, but it didn't restore any of my stats in the process, meaning I died in the very next turn. The necromancer doesn't seem to do anything useful beyond seeming like a weird/bad ally. It makes me wonder if that's the joke.
