Level 89 Block Buster
Is there a way to beat this one easily?

I passed the level yesterday on the original, what part are you having trouble with?

I'm having trouble with the third room, I don't know if it's luck based or if there is a way to pass this section easily.

You just need to time it right nothing more to it.

The third room is definitely an eye killer if you try to go past each block separately. What I found easier was figuring out the 'rhythm' in which the blocks moved away, and then I could just press up 5 times following the 'rhythm' to get past all of them.

I give up, it's more a punishment than a challenge at this point.

I too am stuck here in the third room. I don't recall ever struggling this much on the old MS version. I've tried both skins with smooth scrolling enabled and disabled. Any tips?

Me neither... I don't know if its because of aging reflexes, or the revamped animation, but this level has become impossible for me... I don't even remember playing such a difficult level as a kid, .. The level i used to get stuck at was that ice maze around lvl 100

If it is any consolation, ice definitely behaves differently on the steam edition vs. the original microsoft edition, however ice was much more erratic on the original microsoft edition which made it arguably harder.

That said, I am struggling with this level on the steam edition too!

Just beat Block Buster. The 3rd room went something like this:

Walk over the spawners all in a row, turn right to the wall
1 2 3 walk
1 2 3 wait
1 2 3 walk
1 2 3 walk
1 2 3 wait
1 2 3 wait
1 2 3 walk

It helped me to count out loud to myself

I'm stuck with the third room in the level this time, no matter what I can do to pass it. I think it's something do with FPS and computer speed affect the game developed for 1990s computers. I may contact the studio to see if they can fix it by slow the blocks down a bit.

I just finished it a few minutes ago after a lot of frustration. I kept dying in rooms 3 or 4. I could never get a block into the water on 4.

What eventually worked for me for rooms 3 and 4 was F5 to pause and holding up.

For Room 3: Pause/Unpause until you get a pause where the sliding block has just bounced off the right block and is part of the way into the middle ice square but not all the way.
Roon 4: Pause/Unpause until the block is starting to move from the middle square to the right. Pause when it is partially in the right square but mainly in the middle square.

When you get it into position, hold the up key, release unpause and then release the up button. So you will be moving as you unpause but then release before taking a second step.

This was the best advice! I had been struggling to get the timing but Pause/Unpause got me through in about 3 attempts.

How did you pause the game without it blocking the whole screen with the pause menu?

You don't. You'd have to watch the game to see what state it's in right before you pause.

Just wanna say thanks and shout out to the pause method! :)
