As in I posted asking this very question in this very forum the first time more then three years ago, have actively looked through forums for years, trying to find a possible issue, and tried nearly everything suggested except for what was physically impossible, like switching to an Apple to try running the game on.
All I need to know is if the developer has ever offered to fix this game to a launchable state, or at least some indicator why it won't for pretty much anyone I know who ever bought it, and what the necessary fixes are.
I don't think you understand here. It has never even gotten that far. Ever. Not once. There is no second window. No CD key entry prompt to disable. I've never even had the option to close the dialog box you're referring to, because it never occurs to begin with. The game literally won't complete loading far enough for what you're advising me to do, to even be possible to occur.
I'll save you some time. Same thing. Same thing every alternate way to try to launch it I've been told. Same way on compatability settings, same way even on a new computer entirely.

Second Bitdefender was prohibiting storing save files to the local disk, and I had to add an exception to allow GSB2 (in the "Safe Files" portion of Bitdefender). If you are not using Bitdefender, whatever antivirus/security system you use may be blocking something similar.
Sorry, but has anyone tried the compatibility mode. I mean, the game has been around for a few years. During the first battle the game was extremely laggy, absolutely unplayable. I have now started it in compatibility mode, set to Windows 8 as recommended by Windows and everything works fine.
Literally didn't help. And yes this is almost three years *after* this thread, and almost 6 after game was first sold to me on steam and steam support refused to refund it despite the fact it's literally never launched.
