The Talos Principle Demo

The Talos Principle Demo

[SOLVED] Motion sickness and headache.
Regardless of the game/graphics settings this made me feel instantly nauseous. I'm rarely affected by this, maybe three games in over thirty years, but this hit me straight away like nothing else ever has. It is slightly better with v sync enabled but I still had to turn it off after only a few seconds play. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me...

Please try with Third Person mode, maybe increased FOV, and for some people it helps to play with gamepad instead of mouse (if that is not against your morals :) ).

Thanks for the quick response, I will give this a try later, I'm more than happy to use a gamepad :)
Hopefully I can give you some useful feedback next time!
Increase FOV to 100 for 16:10 resolutions and to 106 for 16:9. You could also tweak some video settings so that it would run smoother (more fps)

Third person does help a lot I've just tried it, along with increasing field of view. There is still weird motion when moving through the trees at the start, a weird flickery blur effect. The robot avatar manages to hold my gaze enough to offset this effect but it may still get to me after a while. Will update in a bit and let you know.
It is to do with framerate, when I walk away from the big castle at the start toward the forrest area and get near to the little castle building my fps drops to around 30 from an otherwise stable 60(when walking around in the trees near the big castle). This is causing the stutter effect and the nasty head feeling. I will turn down my graphics settings.
My system is roughly i7, 16gb ram, Msi GTX 970.
I've put all my settings on medium and this issue is gone :)
Pretty power hungry game at the mo, they have prob still got a lot of optimization to do yet though.
Right now I can play it :D
Excellent! Thanks for the feedback!
This is why an FoV setting isn't something that should be considered optional to include or a competitive advantage, it can effect the comfort/health of players.
I have GTX770 (overclocked edition) / intel core-i7 2600 / 8GB RAM. On the ultra/high/ultra it's give stable 60fps, on the ultra-x3 it drops to 30fps on the open space (v-sync on).

Generally I get nauseous from the head bobbing. I am usually very sensitive to this stuff so I turned it off before I even started the game and I had no issues.
hArtKor, try it with DX9 rather than DX11. It was far better for me and removed all motion sickness even with everything set to Ultra.
This is absolutely the strangest thing. I have been playing FPS games since I was 8. This is the first time I've gotten motion sickness. I am so intreagued by the game...but I'm about to toss my cookies after a full 30 minutes of it.
