STAR WARS™: The Force Unleashed™ II

For some reason my cutscenes won't play
Well most of them anyway. Judgeing from the ''extras'' I've missed easily 50% of cutscenes. I can't even start them up from the extras menu. Some of the cutscenes did play in-game. But just like the ending I hear you can choose dark/light side ending, no such thing happened to me. After the end battle the credits simply started rolling.

If someone knows how I would be able to get the cutscenes work in the game I would be glad for the help.

Other than that I have no other problems with the game, I have high FPS, I have no lag or freezes, I run everything on high. Kinda angry about this, I can play the game fine, but I miss all the cutscenes that shapes the story :D

I've searched forums far and wide for an answer to this same problem, but google hasn't helped me find one. I can't get the cinematics in this game to play at all either. Not during the game, and not from the unlocked cinematics menu either. No video, no sound, not even a black screen. All I get is the click sound when I hit the button on the menu, and the screen never changes and doesn't freeze. In game, it just skips right to the next action sequence. It is essentially taking away all of the story of the game! I have zero issues on the millions of other games I play on this PC so far, and of course my drivers are all up to date. I've tried messing with every option in the game from sound through video settings and nothing has made it work yet. My last option was to just re-install the game completely, which takes forever, but that didn't work either.

I found a solution that worked for me! First of all, I made sure I had Windows Media Player installed (I didn't for some reason) and then set it to my default playback for all video types that it supported. This can be done in the initial setup the easy way by selecting the recommended install features.

If you need to do more after that, I followed another forums advice on a different issue and went to the Steam/SteamApps/common/StarWarsTheForceUnleashed2/Game/Disc/FMV/Win32 folder, and renamed the first file (ATTRACT) to be the same, but with .wmv after it. The combination of these two things fixed the issue. I hope this helps other people that come across this problem!

gaaaah this is so irritating. nothing is fixing this. I'm on windows 10. The first video (before kamino) works. Nothing else does at all, not even the lucasarts logo sting. No video between kamino and the next level, so basically no storyline. No point! Whats more, the end of kamino cutscene isn't even showing in the extras menu, so I can't even try it there.
In the First Force Unleashed Cutscenes are disabled if you play as anyone except the main charachter. If your playing as an unlockable Charachter Such as Like Skywalker or anyone that is not The Main Charachter the Cutscenes will Automaticly get disabled.

My cutscenes were causing me to freeze/crash almost every time. Plus whenever I attacked with my lightsabers the fps would drop severely. I don't know wtf is wrong with this game, but I uninstalled it in rage. I've got a GTX 970 that can run MGSV on max at 60fps so this should not be happening.

Instal the CCCP Codec Pack. It will work! Credit goes to "clerick", here: http://www.overclock.net/t/972905/star-wars-force-unleashed-cutscnes

I don't expect anyone to still be bothered about this in 2017 but if so did anyone ever figure out how to get the cutscenes to play/

you can try this

1.find the config file in your local app data C:\Users\AppData\Local\LucasArts\Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2
2. Edit the config file with notepad
3. Scroll down until you playmovies and change that to no
4. load your game then exit it
5. change playmovies to yes again and load you game once again

the cutscene should work after that

All I had to do was change my default media player to Windows Media Player, this is on Win10.

Than you so much. It absolutely helped me.

I changed the game’s language to something else (Properties → Language), started the game, and then changed it back.
Afterwards the cutscenes were working again.

(I think my issue was that i started the fps fix once outside of steam and it was starting in a different language.)

Figured I'd add that you need to launch Windows Media Player at least once for the curscenes to work (I had it set as default already but hadn't launched it).

Cheers for the intel guys 'n' gals!
