Troubleshooting (Game Doesn't Start, Corrupted Save, SLI, Crossfire etc)

Sorry, that you have an issue and have to read this thread. We will try to patch what we can ASAP. Please make sure you have the latest patch.

How to check current version?

Press ctrl ~ to open the console
Enter: _version and press enter

Verify Game Cache

First step, when something doesn't work after a fresh download or patch:
1. Go to Steam Library
2. Right-click on 'Shadow Warrior2' and select 'properties'
3. Go to 'Local Files' tab
4. Select 'Verify Game Cache'

Save corrupted

Please send us corrupted save with description what happened to shadowwarrior2-support@flyingwildhog.com.
If you are ruining 1.1.1.0 or never version then you can load previous saves from menu.
If it doesn't help then you can try restore them manually:

All saves are stored here (if C: is your system drive):
C:\Users\$USERNAME$\Saved Games\Flying Wild Hog\Shadow Warrior 2\profiles
Every character slot has its own folder there. Every character has 2 save files: save_auto.bin with your character and progress.bin with your SP progress. According to our knowledge only progress.bin can get broken after mixing SP and MP experience.
If your save isn't working properly you can restore earlier save from backup. Please locate progress.bin.X.backup and save_auto.bin.X.backup files in character slot folder and copy it to replace progress.bin and save_auto.bin files. Start game and check if this helped.
If you cannot start new game with new character slot please delete profile.bin and profile.binb from your profile folder. You will loose all Wanglopedia entries but it should fix this problem.

SLI/Crossfire, Freesync/GSYNC or HDR Display doesn't work

Enable exclusive full screen (Options -> Video -> Display Mode -> set to "Full Screen", not to "Full Screen Window")

SLI Hangs The Game On GOG version

Remove "Galaxy" string from game's path:

Strange performance issues or VSYNC issues

Try "full screen" and "full screen window".

Stuttering

Try "full screen" and "full screen window".
Try lowering texture quality.
Shutdown Chrome and Firefox
Add -nochroma to properties->general->set launch options.

Low Performance On Windows 10

Try changing power plan from balanced to high performance. We got user reports of speedups up to 200% on certain configs. Thanks Alexander Av Ekenstam for this tip!

HDR Display Doesn't Work

Make sure you have the newest drivers.
Make sure you have proper GPU and HDMI cable.
Make sure you run in full-screen (and not in full-screen window)

AlienFX Doesn't Work

Add -alienfx to properties->general->set launch options in order to enable it. Watch out, it can cause performance issues or crashes on some systems.

Great amount of support so far loving the game, But...When can we that didnt buy the deluxe edition do so??? I want the soundtrack dammit.

...Yeahh...what I don't get is how that rather HUGE problem wasn't noticed before the release. I mean nobody ever tried to fire up the game on a two core system during the whole developement? Like...seriously?

Agh...don't mind me, I'm just a little bit disapointed. I'm sure the game is good and everything will be fine.

We tested the game on 2 core CPU with HyperThreading and it works fine there. This is also our *min spec* CPU (2 cores with HT).

Sooo, can any devs help me? I refunded the preordered version of the game after playing it for an hour, and then bought the normal not preorder version, but when I get to Wangs apartment, the Razorback katana is still there instead of the chainsaw, I know it sounds weird, but i specifically refunded the preorder version, and bought the normal version, which was more expensive, to get rid of the razorbeak katana, I think there is a problem that needs fixing :/

Then I stand corrected.
So the Hyperthreading or the lack of it (in combination with only 2 cores) is the problem? That's a bummer. :(

That is sad for the dual core thing :/ (and even sadder that I can't be slicing monsters right now ^^ I frickin' loved SW1 :) )

The G3258 is a pretty good dual core, when I see the Witcher or recent games running in 1080 almost maxed out with 40-50 fps.

Could you tell us an ETA on that patch as it is really hindering the ability to play for a portion (minority still i'm sure) of the playerbase?

Hi all, need help. Game didn't detect my nvidia video adapter (GeForce 710m) and launch with integrated intel HD card. In graphic settings i see only Intel(R) HD Graphics and this option can't change.
What i do and this didn't help:
1)Update nvidia drivers to latest
2)Going to nvidia panel and set high priority to Nvidia video adapter
3)Turn off Intel HD graphic. Then game launch with microsoft default graphic
How to fix that?
P.S. Sorry for bad english.

My g-sync doesn't work, i have the Acer Predator XB270HU + gtx 1080, i7 4790, game on ssd
Even if the game is on full screen mode

STOP THE BADASS AUTOKICKING ;_;
A lot of people are getting agitated slowly.
I really wanted to love this game but at this pace, I wouldn't be able to tysm.
Please do completely cease the autokick system or JUST enable an option to enable/disable it while launching a server for friends! :D

I just experienced Corrupted save bug ...after 9 hours of gameplay. I played some MP after SP and it happened.
I managed to roll back to a savegame backup, thanks for this guide.

Update: But then, 2 hours late after a boss battle, i had same error poping out. Havent hosted or joined MP after the first time error...weird. Will probably send savegames.

PS. an ingame chat for MP would be cool.
