Not Starting 0xC000007b

I noticed other such threads were closed and it said to make a new one.... Am on Windows10 (x64), with a GT 240 nVidia Geforce graphics card. Starting from steam it just quietly does nothing after the menu to play or safe mode. When running it from the exe in \Binaries\Wn32\ I get "Life IsStrange.exe - Application Error" with "The application was unable to start correctly (0xC000007b). Click OK to close the application. I had just episode 1 installed and had it started up last i think before the last tiny tiny patch. I've tried the thing _CommonRedist stuff for "DXSETUP.exe", "PhysX-9.13.1220-SystemSoftware.msi", "\2012\vcredist_x64.exe", i've also tried deleting the # folder for LiS in "\Steam\userdata\#\" as well as the LiS folder in "\My games\". I've removed all DLC content, i've done verify integrity of game cache.... I'm running out of ideas. Hoping that "0xC000007b" address might explain things to someone else enough to give me an suggestion.

I searched for 0xc000007b on Google and the first result was a PC Advisor page that suggests it's a Windows issue rather than a LiS issue with 7 tips to fix it. I had it as well, i only reinstalled Direct X, which didnt help, then Steam download by itself Microsoft something C++, it made the game run, try to get Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2015 (years) Redistributable , hope this helps.

it was running it fine last month when i only had ep1, should for the rest with lowest settings.

just got done doing x64 files for 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 with no luck of it starting yet, stilll the same application error via exe run, or silently not opening via steam. so i went through and also installed x86 versions as well (win10x64). no luck before or after reboot. about to try an uninstall of DotNet and reinstall of that stuff, to see if it'll help at all.

.NET has nothing to do with this.

Let the game crash once again, open the event viewer and search for a report related to "LifeIsStrange.exe" in the folder "Windows Logs/Applications".

I don't mean the message box.
There is a program called "event viewer". When a program crashes, Windows makes a report. This report can be viewed with the event viewer (see the link I posted above).

Any luck with solving this issue? I have the same problem with some other games - X-COM Enemy Unknown, Magic 2014, LEGO Hobbit. And I also have Windows 10 x64.

Reinstalling VCRedist of all kinds, DirectX and even .NET Framework. Compatibility options also don't help.

I did it! Another session of googling finally helped. The problem for me was with xinput1_3.dll. I donwloaded a dll package from here: http://freewisdoms.com/download-dll-files-commonly-used-by-games/, replaced just xinput1_3.dll in SysWOW64 - and problems with games I mentioned disappeared!
Don't know whether it will help with Life Is Strange, though.

I followed the same steps you did. I checked to make sure all of those .dll were on my PC, and sadly they're all there, and two of my games are still affected.

I can't launch Borderlands 2 (Steam) and Life Is Strange (GOG). Borderlands 2 I've been trying to fix for three years....both 2K Support and Microsoft support had no solutions.

Just bought Life Is Strange off of GOG, and it's the same problem. I'm really at a loss here...
