Hello, unwavering chevaliers!

After several smaller updates I can now present version 1.01 of Unterholz! Along with numerous tweaks and fixes, this version also brings a few new features and improvements to the gameplay.

• Realistic or Cinematic Combat Sounds
  
  As already announced previously, you can now choose between cinematic combat sounds and a more realistic approach. I have kept the cinematic sounds from the original as the default, as these sounds offer good feedback during battles and are more akin contemporary Hollywood movie productions. However, if you have ever witnessed an authentic, historically more accurate fight of two knights in armour with longswords, you will undoubtedly be familiar with the tinny staccato of forged metal against full plate.

• New Dynamic Icon System
  
  Furthermore, you will now be able to spot interactable objects such as items, points of interest and characters easier with the introduction of a more convenient dynamic icon system. Approaching items from a distance will now place a dot icon above every interactable that can be seen from afar. Never miss a part of the lore or collectible item again!

• Updated Soundtrack
  
  In addition to this I have updated the MP3 soundtrack in the game folder with ID3-tagged versions of the tracks and included the official front and rear sleeve artworks in the archive.

• 
  Many Fixes and Improvements
  
  A lot of minor tweaks, fixes and optimisations have been done to further enhance your experience and hopefully smash any lingering bugs from development - except for those that crawl out of the underbrush of course to infest your shiny armour, remove them by repeatedly pressing "E"...!

Thanks to all the chevaliers who played the game, recorded and shared videos and gave valuable feedback! I hope you are having fun exploring this tiny cozy copse and enjoy the atmosphere and lore.

Hello, steadfast chevaliers!

The next update will bring Unterholz to version 1.01 and include a range of fixes, changes and new features! I would like to give you an additional preview of what will be included:

• Better indication of interactable objects in the game:

A dot will indicate an interactable object or character from greater distance. Approaching the location will change the dot into the interactable icon.

• Additional hints to improve overall communication of gameplay elements and puzzles:

• A new gameplay option to toggle between the original as well as realistic armour and weapon impact sounds.

• Edited soundtrack including proper ID3 tags and a front as well as a rear cover, included with the game in the "Soundtrack" folder. In addition to this, the soundtrack will be released as an official Steam Soundtrack, including high quality FLAC audio as well. This soundtrack is the same that is already included with the game and will come completely free as a bundle with the original game. You can then download or listen to it via the official Steam Soundtracks feature and it will appear in your library neat and tidy with its own sleeve.
  
  Many excellent gameplay videos of Unterholz helped me in finding a lot of the remaining bugs and provided valuable feedback during the development. Thanks go out to all the creators and viewers who contributed, shared and commented - it's amazing to see you play and analyse the game and its secrets!
  
  I am currently working on implementing the final touches, the patch as well as the updated soundtrack should be available in the next few days!
