IL-2 Sturmovik Tutorials
Just to let new pilots out there know...if you have bought IL-2 on steam and are wondering where to start then I encourage you to check out my YouTube channel for help. I have one already for Rise of Flight which has many videos under the username Requiem10NS, but the one relevant to IL-2 is found here:

https://www.youtube.com/user/RequiemBoS

I've now made a Steam Guide you can check out under my profile.

The guide contains my library for the new IL-2 series covering Air Gunnery, Fighter Maneuvers, Aircraft familiarisations, principles of flight, engine management, my TrackIR profile, etc which have helped many new (and old) pilots.

I hope it helps you prospective pilots out there to stay in piece and learn more about what makes these aircraft tick. Enjoy!

Nice and informative videos you have set up, well done!

I have one question about the padlock view, maybe you know the answer?
The thing is that I`m not able to get a padlock view of an enemy plane or a ground target. Neither from the cockpit view nor from an external view. No matter how hard I press "F8" or "STRG+F8" nothing is happening.
I mapped the key to a joystick button, but that didn`t work either. :-(

In "IL 2 1946" and "Rise of Flight" it always worked as expected, but here I can`t make it work.
Am I missing something or is it not implemented yet?

XShadowY - when going into a mission check your realism options. Under Normal and Expert padlock is turned off. You need to choose Custom to enable it. You may also wish to check your key bindings. :)

Hi pavig, yes I switched to custom and left the key bindings at default. :-( I can access some external views, but can`t lock on to "closest enemy" etc.

Great to see you over here Requiem. Your tutorials are going to help A LOT of new (and experienced) pilots.

I have followed Requiem's tutorials for a while and they are really helpful. Also his TrackIR profile is just amazing. Great job! [CBZ323]

Great to see you here, Req! Thanks again for all the tutorials you're making.

No worries guys, I really enjoy making these so it makes me happy that they help you! I'll be receiving a code for BoS on Steam, so once that is activated I can do the Steam guides myself.

So, no inderactive ingame tutorials, again?

I've finished the Steam guide based on content I've made thus far, so the mods can feel free to unpin this thread if they need the space.

A FW 190 familiarisation would be great. Soaking up all information I can get at the moment and you are doing a really good job - keep it up! :D

There are a couple of graphic bugs with the Fw-190 cockpit (horizontal stab indicator and flap indicator on wing), so I'm hoping on Friday they are fixed so I finish the familiarisation for it.

The game is in beta, many (most of ?) game modes are work in progress or not implemented yet, tutorials included. To early to say. I remember reading that in-game tutorials are planned, aimed specifically at helping rookie players to learm these planes.

Requiems tutorials are not part of game, I think they are his private venture (one I'm very grateful for!).

That's correct. Just to clarify as I've had people ask me about this. My videos aren't official and I'm not affiliated with the developers (I'm just a tester), but the devs have been willing to help me out if I had any questions or problems which I appreciate.

I'm just doing what I can to make things easier for people, so while I'm trying to cover certain topics if anyone feels like there is something I've looked over, or what you would like to see, please let me know.
