Crown Store Gifting Update – October 2023
Following up on Studio Director Matt Firor’s message last month about the current and future status of Crown Store Gifting[forums.elderscrollsonline.com], we are moving forward with re-enabling this functionality for eligible players at the account level. In this post, we will detail what to expect.

In September, we temporarily disabled Crown Store gifting due to a rapidly growing issue of “bad actors” using various fraudulent means to amass crowns without paying for them, then using them in turn to sell Crown Store items to players for real-world cash outside of the game client. That said, we recognize that gifting is a meaningful part of our community, and we are in the process of manually re-enabling Crown Store gifting access for select players who meet our specific criteria. This work will be complete tomorrow, October 11, during the maintenance window from 09:00 AM ET to 12:00 PM ET.

Gifting eligibility is determined by an evolving list of factors including but not limited to the account being at least 180 days past its first login and previous engagement with in-game features. You may check if you have access to gifting in-game via the Crown Store as well as via your billing history page[account.elderscrollsonline.com] in the ESO account center. If you have access to Crown Store gifting, you will see “Allow Crown Store Gifting” in your billing history. If you try to send a gift via the in-game Crown Store and do not have access, you will see a “Gifting Locked” pop-up message. Please note that we are exploring better ways to display this information in-game in the future, such as updating the Gifting Tutorial.

If you do not have access to Crown Store gifting after it is re-enabled on October 11, 2023, and wish for a review of your account, please visit https://help.elderscrollsonline.com and submit a Customer Support ticket. Please choose the Billing / Purchase / Code category then Platform > I have a question about a sale / offer > I want to send gift items from this account.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience while we get this solution up and running. Multiple teams have worked long hours to evaluate the best technical solutions that we could stand up in a reasonably short time, while also prioritizing the Crown Store gifting player experience. We are dedicated to continuing to explore ways to make this better and reduce fraudulent activity in ESO. Thanks again for being a part of our community and for your continued support.

Just throwing this out there, many of us on Steam do not have gifting even though we met the criteria. We've sent tickets. Hope that it is resolved. But in case someone else reading this has the same problem, they should know they are not alone.

Some of us, like myself, that started playing through Steam have never been able to link to the ESO website and cannot put in a ticket in the way you ask. I would like to gift something to my husbands account and cannot. Please assist..

Some of us, like myself, that started playing through Steam have never been able to link to the ESO website and cannot put in a ticket in the way you ask. I would like to gift something to my husbands account and cannot. Please assist..

Ok the husband finally got tired of me complaining about it, did some work on it and has now got me signed into your site with steam linked but it will still not allow me to sign into the help/support page. Is there a way I can email you the screenshots so I can show you the proof and it can be looked at?

Hi Kevin,

Giving you an update, I contacted customer service through in-game. When even giving the screenshots they keep attempting me to log into customer support, which we know I cannot do, to place a ticket there. Can I please get a person to speak to instead of automated responses from someone? The only one in your company that has made any sort of effort is you, hence why once again I am reaching out.

I think this will slightly reduce the issue, but you're fighting an unwinnable battle. Furthermore, ZOS raising prices for international players has been hurting players immensely, and I believe will actually reduce profits. Could you forward this to the team? Specifically Argentinian players.

Pobre tipejo, en serio crees que ellos elevan el precio? Pagas lo justo. Se supone que para todos el plus cuesta y debería costar 15 dólares o lo equivalente en tu moneda local. Y tengo entendido que les costaba aprox 1 dólar y medio. Que ustedes se hayan acostumbrado a ese precio por error de cálculo ya es algo externo a la compañía. Aparte, si tú tuvieses una compañía tu objetivo sería poder generar dinero para seguir pagando a tus trabajadores y la energía de los servidores.
Tema aparte, por qué le das prioridad a un juego que se puede jugar SIN PAGAR. Y no le das importancia a asuntos del día a día? De verdad te pones a lloriquear por el tema de un jueguito en vez de elegir correctamente al presidente que cambiará las cosas?

Evening, I have two accounts for ESO. Both are plus accounts. Both seem to be set on the same e-mail. Like Sionix, I also can not get the info to where it needs to go to be able to reopen the gifting of crowns on my Steam account, that I DID have before it was closed. The other non steam account has the ability to gift. I also would like to speak to someone about some help please. Thanks, Ace.

bring back regional pricing for certain areas. you ♥♥♥♥ people over in turkey. 2.5x really? you could have adjusted the price but you didn't. You might change when you see the subs go down but at that point we will say screw you too.
Mmm... Well I'm in a bit of pickle... I've my account for ESO was made back in 2015 when I first played ESO on the Xbox One. My friend get me the ESO Ult collection on Steam for my birthday so how I see it I should be able to apply to unlock gifting for ESO on Steam but when I looked there was no where for me to type that info in when trying to apply to have the ability to trade crowns and gift people stuff.
