i beat the game 100%at 70 hours or so. now im just having fun leveling up weapons and trying different builds! its like a more vertical version of god eaters formula minus the bullet creation but there's still elements!

If you're a fan of VITA Monster Hunter-Like games then you'll definitely enjoy this one. The graphics is still the same as the VITA and there are only few improvements from the original VITA game. Some may not like this one but the multiplayer is still good.

Before we begin, let me just say - I love Freedom Wars, however I'm leaving a negative review to make the devs aware of a problem that has been completely ignored since launch.

Voice language switching only working on dubs and not the synth voices.

Yes, it seems like a weird issue to have, but as a player of the old Freedom Wars, I'm fully aware that in the Vita release, they just didn't touch the TTS AT ALL. They cut out the command response editor, and voice adjustment wholesale (probably because its implementation is really finnicky).
This time however they did introduce an English TTS for both the accessory and Propa (the Panopticon mascot).
And that's where the problems start.

Once you play through the tutorial missions, you're allowed to switch your in-game character voices to the OG Japanese ones (why you can't do it from the start, is beyond me).
However.
That change only applies to the pre-recorded lines, and not the synth. For whatever reason, the game is not able to switch between the TTS versions on the fly. Because of that, you end up with a messy mix of Japanese and English. Doesn't quite sound like the advertised "full Japanese audio support".
There are workarounds, but because of the anti-cheat software, those lock you out of COOP, which is a huge part of end game.

So here's my plea:
Make the voice language switch change the TTS to the Japanese one as well.
I don't know if that's simple to do, but I'll be honest - I don't care.
You promised full Japanese audio support, so make it FULL SUPPORT.
Oh, and widescreen would be nice. It's 2025, we've had widescreen monitors for 15 years now - catch up already.

I don't care what you say, the additions of AI voices is hilarious. Even without the new language option, I'd still recommend

Loved this game since back in the vita days, great grind-fest at the end too !!!

This is my favorite PS Vita game, so when I saw the trailer, I was so excited! Three of my friends also bought it, and we're having a blast doing co-op quests. I just hope they make a sequel to this game!

After the most recent update I have no problem recommending this game to those intending to play on Steam Deck. I wish they would fix the weird frame stutter problem though

If you were a fan of the original release on Vita this remaster is worth the price. Nearly 3 weeks on since its release, online lobbies are still very much active but do keep in mind that there is no free chat, only predetermined phrases can be used.

Look, any attempt to bring this back to life deserves praise. This game is great, and a few port issues are not the end of the world.

If you have any interest in a quick, mission-based looter with multiplayer, then this is a blast. If you don't have friends and want to feel like you do, then this is great too. This game lets you have seven AI companions for most missions, and that is fantastic. The closest game to this is *Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet*, and you should give that a shot if you like this and haven't already.
