FISH FEAR ME

Announcing the FISH FEAR ME Beta Test!

Hi cosmic debtors,

I'm excited to announce that the FISH FEAR ME Beta Test has begun! As I develop the game, I've reached the point where I need to be more active about pursuing feedback, so I'm opening up the beta version of the game to anyone who wants to participate! This beta test WILL mess with your save, so I recommend backing it up ahead of time if you want to preserve your demo progress in the full game! Instructions on backing up your save are available at the link below.

This beta test currently includes:

One new map (Shipwreck Bay)
Forty-four new fish
One new weather condition
A couple new weapons/lures
An additional metaprogression mechanic (Challenges)
The next major step in the upgrades shop (The Bell of the Deep)
Inscrutable altars demanding sacrifice
A region that seemingly has no fish, guarded by a gargantuan squid
Another region that just straight up kills you if you stay there too long
Probably a lot of bugs that still need to be fixed
A bunch of little UI/UX fixes that hopefully make the game more approachable
And more!

The beta's already got a ton more content than the demo, and I'll endeavour to keep the beta branch updated as I work on the rest of the game. I hope to see you there!

FIXES:
🪝 Removed a duplicated name in the credits page
🪝 Fixed the Lightning Lure being referred to as the Electric Lure in bounty descriptions

Demo Update 1: Alternate Control Options

Hello, cosmic debtors! The demo's out in the world, which means it's time for the very first patch notes! Changes marked with a 🪝 are community suggestions.

CHANGES:
🪝 Added an experimental alternate movement control scheme! To activate it, check out the "CONTROLS" section of the options menu. Basically, instead of turning the boat manually, the boat will always turn to face your mouse. Accelerate forwards with the left mouse button, and accelerate backwards with the right mouse button. As previously mentioned, this is an experimental change, so if you run into any problems, let me know!

title says it all one of the best opening songs in a game i've heard in years. was looking for it on spotify and got a different song that was more doom metal but equally good

I could really use a hint for catching the Red Herring

I've tried (I think) every combination of lures, baits, and spots. I've explored all over the dang place. I just want to be done with this demo and I am just this fish away from it. I'm starting to worry it's a joke, that it truly is a red herring. Please save me from myself....
