This is my situation as well at the moment. I can talk to the other armor smith but there is no dialogue option about the letter.

Yea, must be bugged i think.

There was a patch today, i wonder if that fixed it.

Same problem, all he does is say generic lines, no way to interact with him, I've read the letter and it's still in my quest inventory, but no dice.

Having just finished the quest while it's bugged it's not in the way you'd think.

The guy you want is likely there you simply can't interact with him.

The guy you want for this quest is the other Blacksmith up against the wall, he should have a red scarf around his neck. For me he needed to be working at the anvil for me to be able to talk to him.

For anyone else like me that got stuck here try advancing time until he's pounding on something at the anvil and then talking to him.

Garudin is right about the red scarfed smith being the correct person to talk to. It was bugged for me as well. Meditating for one hour made it possible to talk to him, even though he wasn't at the anvil.

waiting an hour fixed the issue, thanks buddy

It's a bit odd. I tried waiting, and exiting meditation throughout various parts of the day, to no avail.

What made him appear for me was to head down the steps, through the door near the Clan An Craite guard under the shadecloth, go down to the bottom of the steps, disrupt the guard waiting at the bottom, then come back up.

I just kept meditating for an hour while near him, eventually it worked. I had to meditate until 10am, took me 4 tries. Strange bug...

was just able to finish the quest... advanced time by one hour, the blacksmith with the red scarf appeared, couldn't talk to him, advanced time again by one hour and was finaly able to hand in the quest.

there is one downside I have also found to this quest.

Yes, I did the whole meditate until he will speak to you and eventually it worked.

HOW-EV-ER, once you hand in the letter, he becomes UNSPEAKABLE FOREVER. He will only say something like "Leave me alone with my grief" or something to that effect.

So, I loaded an earlier save and now, I WILL NOT hand this letter to him until I feel I am fully done with Ard Skellige --- since the ONLY other journeyman smiths on the island are in Madman Lugos's clan village, on the OTHER side of the island.

This is the case for me as well. Cannot speak to him, and I didn't even get to play him in Gwent. :(

the armourer/weaponsmith is the right person to turn this quest in, don't know if this was the right translation, but i thin it'll do.

btw guy has black hair and a red scarf around his neck.
