One of the best psychological horror games out there and one of the greatest stories in gaming. A classic.

SOMA is the kind of game that makes you question whether your consciousness is real, or if you’re just another malfunctioning robot on a sinking submarine. The only thing scarier than the glowing-eyed abominations lurking in the shadows is the existential crisis that hits you at 3 a.m. after you finally (sort of) escape.

This is the best horror game I have ever played. Going in, I knew nothing about it except that it was a well received game. I hadn't played a horror game in a while, and with its relatively short runtime of about 9 hours, I thought, "Why not give it a shot?" Oh boy, I had no idea I was in for such a treat!

Just three hours into the game, I realised this was going to hit hard. There is absolutely zero action which i got to know only a bit later. Initially, I was unsure if I should keep playing since I’m not a fan of walking simulators (the only exception being "What Remains of Edith Finch"). But after about an hour, the incredible dialogues, level design, and captivating story pulled me in and kept me hooked until the very end.

This is the kind of game where you don’t feel like skipping any dialogue. In fact, you’ll find yourself craving more, eager to uncover what happened to the characters and why you’re in this unsettling world. The horror is rooted deeply in the story and atmosphere, making it fully immersive. I genuinely felt everything Simon was going through as the game progressed.

There are no cheap jump scares. The reveals that they made from time to time just blew my mind off. Phenomenal writing! That ending... I’m still trying to process it.

A huge thanks to my friend Reloaded for gifting me this game and to my other friends for recommending it. I never thought I’d play this, but I’m so glad I did. It’s a must play, and I cannot recommend it enough!
