macOS Screen Issue FIX

Hello Everyone!

I'm happy to say we have released a new update for This War of Mine, which should fix the ongoing Screen Issue, as well as minor other bugs. Please, note that for the Screen Issue to be fixed you will need to REINSTALL the game.

We apologize for the long wait and the reinstallation requirement, however, due to the new Steam architecture for macOS one of the parameters in the game config is not updating properly, which in turn causes the infamous Screen Issue. We are still waiting for Steam's resolution so, for the time being, the workaround for the issue after the update is the game's reinstallation.

under a gigabyte for me, WHY must i reinstall game? what about verification of files? we don't all have unlimited bandwidth DEV..

Yeah, because they can totally control something that has such a fudamental change, it has to have a reinstall. This is a small game as it is, it's not THEIR job to try and account for people still on ancient low level bandwidth ISPs.

Why isnt this update part of overall update for the game?
The news hub shows the last update was back in December 2019 - shouldnt ANY update be showing in the hub page?

like it OR not, i continue to disagree with you, IT'S LUDICROUS to re-install the entire game for this update to take effect. Noted, other games this has happened before, CALL OF DUTY-WARZONE. Even worse.

Hi! Could you guys release the hardcoded part of Character creation, for adding strengths / weaknesses to new characters? For example, I want to make an alcoholic, or a smoker, or a mom with her kid, or maybe a character that starts with a specific tool, or adding new professions or jobs.

Also I've noticed the ingame portraits have 2 different photos (one with open eyes, and other with closed eyes) that triggers in a sequence, or when the character dies.

This would improve the replay value by a lot and people would event make new stories.

just bought the game on offer now it keeps crasing on startup on my laptop :(

That's amazing you think we can find any better available internet.

I do think it is ridiculous I have to waste so much of my premium data as a Windows user to be able to play this.
