I'm hoping to warn any potential buyers thinking about buying during this steam sale. - No 1440p support - Everytime you change resolution in the menu it immediately applies the change causing your monitor to go black, then prompts you with the "yes/no do you want to keep this?" setting. - No controller glyph support controls show up as "J-axix 1" and other non-sense. - Manually remapping your controller is completely non-sensical and the default controls were made for aliens. Why does this game has the most amount of players among all the dw, wo and sw games? I was thinking on buying this, 8 empires or wo 3. Does thi games has something that others dont or something more special than others that makes people play it more? Thanks in advance...

I see a lot of them have mixed reviews, especially the empires games. I remember trying one of the Empires games out at a friend's house a long time ago and I really liked it, but I'm not really sure what's going on with these PC ports or how they all compare to each other. It looks like 8XL has the most solid ratings of all the games. Idk if 9 or 9 empires are worth checking out or if 8 Empires is considered better than 9 empires. Thanks ahead of time...

I don't mind using guides, but I'm curious how people write the guides, unless I'm missing some sort of obvious in-game hint or guide.

after going thru the story modes for the first time, i see there are hypothetical "stars" to fill in if i replay the level. reading online says "free mode" doesn't actually unlock the hypo, so I assume i have to be in story mode. but can i use stage select to meet the star requirements? after i beat a level in stage select and fill in the star, can i then quit to menu and pick a new stage? a little confused how that works?...
