La verdad, después de Castlevania Symphony of The Night y Hollow Knight es de los mejores metroidvenias en los últimos años. Gran jugabilidad, un muy buen diseño de arte, puzzles desafiantes, jefes retadores y sobre todo un INMENSO MAPA que te podes perder jugandolo sin las ayudas del juego (como en la vieja escuela) jajaja

The actual Game of the Year, that won't get the credit it deserves because Ubisoft are a garbage company

I mean, it's a quality game, probably the best Metroidvania I've played since Ender Lillies. But it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft, man. They insist you have Uplay installed so it can annoy you with irrelevant Toasts while you're playing, ♥♥♥♥♥ with your steam deck if you're playing offline, you have to manually put saves into and out of their cloud per device blah blah blah.

The game itself is just colourful, edgy Hollow Knight. Which is good, don't get me wrong! But gone are the people at Ubisoft who knew how to write a real character like back in the heyday of BG&E or Sands of Time, so it's just Angry Main Character and a bunch of Dreamworks staple sidekicks and antagonists. The game play moment to moment is really excellent and it actually expects you to get good at the mechanics to progress rather than just being a big flavourless sand(aha)box.

Also, obviously, they disbanded the studio that made the game, the only good Ubi game since the last Anno and -lets be honest- they did it because it isn't endlessly DLC-able live service slop. I realise how negative this review is but it's because the game itself is good! Occasionally great, even, but everything surrounding it is so awful and depressing lol.

I`m amazed by the high quality of this game, the story is interesting, the visuals are gorgeous, the game play is fluid and responsive, the combat is fun.
Amazing game overall, I hope to see a sequel!

The only win they have had in years

One of the best metroidvanias out there. Up there with the likes of hollow knight. Crisp combat, tight platforming, good visuals and a decent story make for a really enjoyable experience.

After the game boots, you'll see "Ubisoft Original" towards the bottom of the screen, which is a clue to the developer's fate.

Thumbs down for Ubisoft, who's actual 2 cents is an overlay that causes the game to crash, and not be able to exit to desktop. The game also sucks down performance (idle), which can be hard on batteries (close it).

Probably the best 2D platformer ever created, what a ♥♥♥♥' masterpiece.

best game i played in 2024

One of the best Metroidvanias I've played in years. The map is large and sprawling, with plenty of secrets to find.
The combat is fantastic. I loved the parry system, and all of the various charms you could find to customise your combat style. The upgrades are very well designed too, and also unique. It was nice playing a game that didn't follow the standard MV upgrade path.

This is a GOTY contender and I'll be forever sad that Ubisoft disbanded the team. Speaking of Ubisoft, if you're a Steam Deck owner and hesitant to play this game because of the Ubisoft Connect requirement, don't be. It was only very, very minimally present, and easy to forget about. Just sign in and you're good to go.
