Yo, this is kind of sketchy as ♥♥♥♥.
Ascyndaeon 31 Dec, 2020 @ 4:13am
Oh great, a way to ensure that one of these days they can ensure we can't use Facerig anymore so we are forced to start using Animaze, even those of us who backed you back in the day. Wonderful.

Im getting I-phone vibes here...
The kind of "Lets update our softwere and make it just little worse withouth anyone knowing so they would be nudged into buying our newer product"
Did they say that they will just discontinue the support and leave it as it is..
i dont want to be negative or start drama for no reason but this is a bit sketchy to me

This shouldn't even be needed. I do not like the Animaze garbage program being used to replace this one. I refuse to pay a subscription to use a program I OWN.

Keep your updates with that Animaze crap.

Yeahhhh this sounds sketch.
An update to make the software (that already works fine enough) worse and worse so you get people to buy into your garbage subscription program.

I can't believe I bought this program. I was thinking of pirating it back in the day and was like "nah you know it seems like a small team, I'll buy it on steam" god do I ever regret doing that. What convenient ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ timing for your driver signature to expire, right? Juuuust around the time that you wanna roll out the subscription service? ♥♥♥♥ off.

ÍTS A TRAP !
Tiamat Blaze 31 Dec, 2020 @ 7:00am
The best part about this ♥♥♥♥ show, Steam apparently no longer has the option to disable game/program updates.

Where can I learn more about what is going on here? I specifically bought a webcam and Facerig to stream games using it, so now I'm not going to be able to?

♥♥♥♥ THIS. THIS IS SO SHADY. ♥♥♥♥ YOU. I would use other alternatives, such as vtube studio or prprlive after this. this is just a way to force people to use animaze. I am sorry animaze is kinda sketchy and predatory.

I got the list below from the steam review,
Better and cheaper alternatives:

3D:
VUP
VSEEFACE

2D:
Vtube Studio
PrPr Live

This is super shady. That's not how software signing works.

The virtual video card driver (Phosgene.sys) was signed on 9/2/2015 and the certificate actually expired on 11/14/2015. The certificate expiration date just means you cannot sign anything after that date. Anything signed before it expired is valid as long as someone doesn't manually revoke/blacklist the certificate.

This reads as a move to implement some sort of forced obsolescence to push people onto your subscription model.

There are ways to Digitally sign the Drivers yourself. I have done this with my ProxMark 3 as there's NO Signed Drivers for it. Though it was NOT easy.

funny no reply from Devs to any comments being posted usually means we are all right..
pesukarhu 31 Dec, 2020 @ 10:01am
it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ funny how no one understands why they did it, it's because windows security stuff won't allow outdated drivers. they did say they'll add back proper facerig drivers.

This is super sketchy. A company doesnt just forget something like that and puts in a placeholder in the meantime. This is highly unproffessional and suspicious
