Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

How time consuming is the game?
Hi!

So I am thinking about trying this game out, I really like ARPGs, and this seems like the best on the market.

But, I have one big concern: I do not have a lot of time a week to play.
So, my question is, how much time investment does this game "asks" for?

Basically, if I know correctly, there will be seasons, which requires a new character every time to be started.
Lets say a season is 3-6 months long?

USUALLY, I would have around 10-15 hours a week to play this game. But that is tops.
This would be my usual time I would have for this game.
Would that even be enough to, you know, get my character through the story, get to the end game, enjoy the end game, etc., until the end of the season, and then start again?

Or does this game requires A LOT MORE time? Like an MMO would..?

My biggest concern is this two things combined, that:
1.) I do not have a lot of time to play
2.) Seasons have a fix length and after that I would need to start a new character to enjoy the new contect.

Can I even get to the "end of the current content / season" with this much time to play?

I am pretty sure this game is amazing, I am just not sure if this game is "for me", because of this.

Can any of you share your experience / thought so far?

Thank you!

Devs told that the campaign alone for a casual player can take up to 50+ hours.
Endgame is if you feel like it after you've finished it.
120 on a scale from 1-100.

It took me 100 hours to reach the end of the game.

and he supports a pay to win game hes no better than the mobile gamers.
You don't have to participate in a season. Just play the normal game mode (where every character from the season ends in). No force to start a new one.

But if you are unsure, just wait until the game is released. It will be free to play. If after trying several chars and doing the first 2-3 Acts you still enjoy it, you can go pay some points for the stash tabs (main way how you pay for the game).

As long as you don't want to guild etc. where other people pressure you, you won't be under real time restrictions.
If you want to clear all the content there is, yes. The game is a big time investment. 15h per week might be enough if you're efficient or it might not be. Hard to tell right now.

If you play on Standard you won't have to start over. All new mechanics are in both Standard and seasonal leagues.

Standard economy usually is a mess though and less people play Standard than seasonal leagues so trading can be an issue.

Another problem is that balance changes can break existing characters that are on Standard, so you might need to change your build even if you keep the character itself. Gear typically doesn't get affected by balance changes though, and uniques that got rebalanced have multiple versions.

That said, I would still recommend playing seasonal. Typically experiencing new league mechanics doesn't require you to complete all the content in the game, and staring fresh in a fresh economy is usually the most fun part of the game.

how ever much you want it to consume
With 10 hours a week you should have time to complete the campaign and get to endgame each season, especially once you know what're you're doing and start speed running. Will you get to the End end game with less than 10 hours a week? Maybe not consistently, but I think its doable (take my word with a grain of salt at 500 hours in poe1 I never got past t5 maps each season and that was because I often had other things to do/ got bored and dropped the game mid season).

And besides if you cant get to endgame each season thats perfectly fine. Often League mechanics find their way into Standard league eventually and your League characters will transfer to standard so you can keep playing.
The end game of ARPG's is nothing but repetitive grind. Just quit whenever. But seasons last 3-4 months. So you do have a time factor.
