POE1 is a finished game with more content, more builds, more depth, more crafting, less bugs, less punishing. Downside is, graphically it's worse, it has no WASD movement, most bosses except the pinnacle bosses are meh. Also it's way faster and more spammy.

POE2 is a souls-like.

It quite literally is though. You lose XP on death (souls) You have refillable flasks (souls) you have a dodge roll and bosses with phases (souls and souls)

Nothing wrong with being souls like. No Rest for the wicked did it too.

They even slowed down this game to make each encounter more challenging... like souls.
