Story is terrible dumb and the game feels like a walking simulator.
! Seen in your profile you have finshed Arizona Sunshine and got ALL acheivements.
Could you help me and answer the question about grabbing all headwearings ?
Does the player need really dress each hats and masks ?
In my run yesterday so much hats from the Zombies were disappeared in a wall or the floor and so i can´t grab this items.
And do i need to dress all hats and masks in Horde-Mode also ?
I also have to shoot every clock i see in after the fall, it doesn't give you anything though
Although the russian accent is a a bit exaggerated, that is a long standing american/english tradition and in this case it was just being organic and no meanness or disrespect was intended. I wouldnt say its cartoonish its just emphasizing that hes a russian dude and i hear those guys are very proud to be russians.
And that voice actor is spot on for just classic storytelling. He is being the narrator and the lead character at the same time making his emotional state feel very real and authentic.
I dont know what it would take to make you guys happy. This is a pretty good game for a cinematic game and the vr controls and atmosphere make it a great game.
I found myself more immersed in the story as i went and im not done playing the game yet.
Spoiler:
I past the part with the ghost kid and i went from thinking it was too obvious to be spooky to really appreciating the sincerity of a father wanting to see his kid again to the point where his sense of reality didnt matter anymore.
End of spoiler.
If i was this far into the game and i thought it sucked, i would just get bored and stop playing.
I grew up with mario, ghouls and ghosts, battletoads and other nes games and i was so fixated on beating the games that i never cared about maximum points or completing everything. I just cared about warps and 1ups.
To this day i dont care about 100% completion and getting achievements butbi have decided warps are cheating and skip over large parts of the game.
I tried it in batman with the riddler stuff breifly for each arkham game but i said f' it each time because i got bored. My friend has every faster than light achievement and it boggles my mind but everyone has their own sense of what makes a challenge fun.
I bought this game thinking it was a zombie/ creature shooter from what I saw in the video and I wasn't going to spend my 2 hour trial doing what I did for 40 minutes to find out that it wasn't what I thought it was and waste $30. For me it was too much story not enough action.
Loved the work though reminded me of HL Alyx but unlike that masterpiece I thought the story was WAYYY too long never saw any action in 40 minutes (according to steam) except the big machine gun that lasted like 30 seconds at the beginning
A bit story, competitive against Nosalis, good Stealth and good shooter-sequences.
But Metro: Awakening is a game for girls. Girls love Lovestories. I DON´T.
Also never did understand this sh..it with ghosts and paranormaly aspects in Metrofranchise but it was ignorable in the flat-versions. In VR it is too nearly to the player to ignore.
Metro without the sentimental ghostshit would be an excellent game.
And maybe the author was felt in love when i did written the story. Or became a father because a son was born.
Or what i guess that guy became gay and woke.
Mike Oldfield did his best masterpiece in age of 20. All follow works are good but not as brilliant as TUBLEAR BELLS was.
And that happens to much creators. Genius in youth, usual and boring in older age.
But it was the descion of Vertigo Games to get a script from the author instead to order a story from a fresh mind. Best this new writer was a gamer also.
Conclusion for me is, Vertigo Games did a really good job, Dimitri didn´t.
