2 questions that are important to me.
A bit of a long shot, but maybe maybe someone knows something about 2 things. Both questions are Narcissu related.

Are there more translations than the 2 on steam version? I'm 99,99% sure the version i've read had a sentence in its final sequence that really made an impression of me and it kinda burned itself into my memory as (probably) the most impactful sentence from a VN i've seen, but both of the translations i've seen now have made this a bit less impactful. I remember it as something akin to "For me, it was an end of 15 days worth of yourney, but she has been on this road her whole life." The official " To me, it was 15 days of time. To her, it was the end of a journey of 22 years." is similar, but hits different and i'm wondering where can i find the translation with "she has spent her whole life on this road" thing.

Another thing about narcissu - the lake protagonists see the first time is lake Biwa. What's the lake where the final chapter occurs? Can't be the same one because of locations. I would be very grateful for any help!

Not sure about the second question, but as for the first, the game originally had three translations, whereas Haeleth's localization for both Narcissu 1 & 2 couldn't be offered on Steam due to licensing issues and the inability to contact those behind it (simply search this board for "Haeleth.") But it's probably still available as free download outside of Steam if you look around a bit. Albeit unfortunate, since most people default to Steam and remain oblivious of its existence. Maybe a small note or referral in the game could have been neat.

Edit: IIRC there's also a map of the route in the (limited edition?) PSP version of the game (セツミ先生の聖地巡礼マップ). Not sure whether the names are all in there, however.

And here http://nomaddo.com/narcissu/ somebody in Japan made a journey along the same route as in the game. I don't really have the time right now, but maybe (Google or other) translation websites can handle it nowadays and you can skim through it yourself.

*The torrent under "download" has no seeds it seems, but the mirror works.
What's the differences between the steam and Haeleth's version?

I really can't remember, sorry. I read the old version way before Steam released it, so my memory is cloudy and I'm not sure about there being any differences outside of the translations. Maybe if we're lucky Agilis checks out the thread and can chime in.

Thank you very much for your help, i will check haeleth's out, i think this might be the one. I tried looking through similar "route" articles, but the thing is they always end at the narcissus fields - i think it might be the case that the final location is either a)impossible to track down (more plausible option) b) it wasn't real in the context of the story, and she drifted away in the car (the gap between chapter 7 and 8 is weird and it would make sense), but this raises questions about the photo protagonist has in the epilogue. EDIT: All haeleths versions links are dead, sadly. Maybe someone has it on their hard drive?

http://www.neechin.net/file_download/25/%5BDenpa%5D_Narcissu_2_Eng_%5Bwin32%5D.exe

It's still on Neechin (Agilis' website). Couldn't find it on the current version of the website, but managed to retrieve the download link with the internet waybackmachine. Contains both Narcissu 1 & 2 with all translations. Hope linking this is OK.

I just checked it, this is the one. Happy to find it. Thank you again for the help. Sure wouldn't be able to do it alone. It's my favorite of the three for sure (although they're all have their strong points)

Glad you found the old version.

For the record, we would have included Haeleth's translation had we been able to get in touch with him to formally obtain the rights to publish.

The biggest difference with Haeleth's version relative to gp32 and my own is that Haeleth uses British English, while the other two versions use American English. The translators also made very different stylistic choices on how to render the translation. While all the versions ultimately mean very similar things line-for-line, things differ in the wording and delivery.
