I don't have a good platform to talk about this but hear me out.

Into the Pit the game and Into the Pit the book are fundamentally impossible to reconcile if you put them in the same canon. Different events, with the same people, happening in different ways. You just can't have both of them together in a timeline.

UNLESS. Time paradox.

In one timeline, Oswald goes back to the past and there is JUST "Yellow Bunny"
In another timeline, Oswald goes back to the past and the entire FNAF gang is there.
In a third timeline, something completely different.

Just the mere act of going back in time tears through the time stream like a supersonic boom. (Think DC Flashpoint or Elderscrolls Dragonbreak)
Like hurling a semi truck into a tranquil lake, Oswald going back in time created complete chaos. Now all that was possible is no longer theoretical. Its all real.

There was never just one Missing Children Incident. Now because of Oswald's time travel every single possible MCI is just as real as the other. Even if it would be impossible because it would require the Purple Guy to be in multiple places at the same time.

Every single possible person who could become Purple Guy became Purple Guy but also had a completely normal life at the same time. Thats how Fazbear entertainment is still around, both outcomes for the company are happening at the same time. Shut down due to a Missing Children Incident. But also never shut down because no kids ever went missing and they became a global mega company.

Lastly consider Scot's writing style.
You can literally go game to game, in release order and witness the timeline distort in real time. The reason that nothing makes sense is you are literally living through an evolving time paradox.
If you think about it, its also why Into the Pit is being pushed so hard. Because time paradox theory could literally solve the entire series.
